   Very pleasant setting for a casual meal or drinks. Watching the sunset, feeling the warm ocean breezes - this is a relaxing place. Service is friendly. Food good. Nightly musician and hula dancer to add ambiance without being a big production. Offers small plates (Korean cauliflower was sizable portion for sharing, crispy with spicy slaw; truffle fries okay but nothing special; caprese salad good proportion) and entrees (miso butterfish was delicate, served on bok choy) and flatbreads (mushroom was good). Wine list offers several choices at about 3X store price. You could probably ask to have other wines that are available at Hau Tree or Manta restaurants if you want something special. We went early, not crowded. Seated near some with younger children, but that was okay for us. We were not staying at hotel. Restaurant at times (when raining) is closed to non-hotel guests to allow sheltered space for hotel guests. Mauna Kea hotel and grounds is an interesting place to explore. Great art collection (podcasts available). Possible manta ray viewing, but light onto water wasn't functional as there is construction nearby at the luau area. Luau is currently held indoors.

   We had a wonderful meal at the Copper Bar -- the gyoza and soft shell crab roll were great starters and the butterfish was tender and sweet. Beverly provided great service. One disappointment was the octopus entree. While the portions were generous, the octopus was very tough and the accompanying carrots and turnips were both underdone. But the atmosphere, the cocktails, the wine and friendly service made the overall experience wonderful.

   A delicious dinner with the sunset and hula dancer and Hawaiian music for ambiance. My ono was prepared to perfection, as was my husband’s steak.

   This was our first visit to Copper Bar. We definitely will return. Hearts of palm salad, butterfish, and pineapple bread pudding were standouts. Gorgeous sunset view, charming Hawaiian music (not too loud), a bit of hula dancing. But a note to Open Table - the reason I rarely reply to your request for evaluations is that you make it so difficult. You've contacted me by email, so you know it's me. Must you really make me wait for a verification code and then copy and paste it, when all I want to do is say this was a good restaurant? Want more responses? Make it's easier!

   The food was great. The seafood was all super fresh and delicious and the presentation of all the food was good. The only reason I docked it a few stars is the service was very slow. For a pricier restaurant at a nice resort you’d hope the service would be a little quicker. You could tell they could’ve used another 2 servers. You almost wanted to order 2 drinks at a time because it took so long. Our server was very nice and helpful. The view was stunning especially at sunset. The decor was stunning as well. I’d definitely recommend the food, but just know if you go at a prime dinner time slot service may be slow!

    The service and ambiance is always top notch!! The flatbread pizza was delicious. Overall, my husband and I love the restaurant and the staff so we’ll be back during our stay at the Mauna Kea.
