   We had a wonderful evening, lovely ambience, amazing food and service. Staff are so helpful and pleasant so overall a fantastic place to eat. Three of us are coeliac and this was not an issue, we had plenty of choice. The cocktails were delicious and Coq bull is definitely a firm favourite restaurant for our family. I’d highly recommend it! Five star service across the board.

   The lighting was too bright. The sauces were good but the burgers were only ok, the cocktails were either too sweet or too spicy. The group we were next to were constantly shouting making my group have to constantly raise our voices to each other to be heard. And there was no hangers for coats Also the server made a joke about me unprompted and unexplained, then touched me on the shoulder and said don't worry about it

   The service down to the food was outstanding. The staff were so friendly ans welcoming .a very relaxed atmosphere .the value for money was unbelievable .I'll definitely be going back again

   I had a meal in coqbull this evening with my husband and child...we first ordered a starter, unfortunately ,i had chicken satay,(2 chicken skewers) and one of them was gone off, a sour smell and taste, I reported it, and the manager offered another starter ,which I declined and he said I won't be charged for it, obviously... I didn't hear anything afterwards from manager, or the kitchen chef as to why it was sour, because my daughter got a spice bag and there was 2 chicken skewers in it, and she didn't eat it, for fear they may also be contaminated....I didn't even get a complimentary cup of tea to say sorry, and we had starters/mains/ dessert/drinks etc....sadly ,service after our mains was appalling, we had to ask fir dessert menu after 40 mins wait, then we had to wait another 20 mins , before we eventually went to counter to order dessert ....and when we left, nothing was said, however, waiting staff were lovely to us, and our mains were very tasty, ...coqbull did not address how serious gone off chicken can be to someone, and I felt it was dismissed, carelessly.....

   Always love going here, food great, Only issue this particular night was the service, Seemed to have no Interest at all in us as Everything seemed to be a bother to the server Even looking for our bill to pay seemed to be an issue and after waiting amount of time for our bill, to see our server drinking and talking was very annoying As I said always love the place but the service tonight was particularly poor

   First the good. Service was nice and friendly. The food from the regular menu was fantastic as always and the cocktails tasted great. Now for the bad...I made the mistake of ordering my main from the specials menu. I went for the 9oz rib eye on the bone and was very disappointed with it. The steak was poorly cut, thick at the bone end down to a point/wedge at far side. No matter what temp i requested it to be cooked at, given the cut it could never have been cooked properly. I went for med-well and even at that it was very over done on the bone side and almost burnt at the thin side. Waiter didn't come to table until i was most of the way through it (i ate it, i had just spent 27 euro on a bit of shoe leather, i was hungry and i didn't have time to wait for another one to be cooked that might very well have been just as bad). I expressed my concerns to the waiter and he apologized and said the steak was cut in house . I didn't ask for, nor did i receive any reduction in bill. Fair enough as i had eaten it. The only thing that saved it was the steak sauce. I would have drank that by the pint.

    Myself my partner and my 10 year old daughter We waited 15mins to be seated upstairs with random staff telling us the manager would be with us shortly. We had a reservation. The service was prompt but not friendly or welcoming. No smile or chat and aloof. We sat at a table under the speaker, we asked for the music to be turned down as we couldn’t hear one another. We asked to change table due to the speaker but were told we couldn’t. The music was turned down but then turned up again. The food was boring and plain looking 2 x chicken Coq burgers for myself and partner… sweet potatoes undercooked soggy on the outside. The chicken was bland as was the slaw that came with it.. the bun was not toasted and had a tiny dot of ranch sauce on it. No burger style garnish to brighten it up. My daughter ordered boneless fries… inedible!!! Cooked to a dense and hard degree, she couldn’t eat them. We asked for chips when half way through our meal for my daughter. They came 25 mins later after we were all finished and cleared. The chips were crispy, tasted like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed for a long time and the chips were hollow of potato… inedible again! Overall a terrible experience.. the manager came to offer his apologies for which we were grateful and offered us a dessert on the house… we just wanted to leave as fast as so declined the offer. My partner paid with a reduction on the bill, though I’m not sure if what. We were very disappointed and we will not be going back presently unless there are changes to the quality of the food including value and a change of ambiance and staff training on service with a smile (at least)
