Chicago’s cutest little French bistro & wine bar. Coquette is a pink Parisian dream offering modern French cuisine paired with exciting wines and cocktails.

Led by Executive Chef Marcos Campos, Culinary Director Erwin Mallet and Executive Pastry Chef Shannah Primiano, Coquette expresses their vision for a modern bistro, where quintessential recipes and iconic dishes are matched with contemporary influences. Though our cuisine may be “nouvelle” our equipment is undeniably primitive, with all cooking done by live-fire ovens and mangal grills. We also feature a dry aging system that blends state-of-the-art technology with methods that go back thousands of years to unleash the flavor and tenderness of the beef, duck and fish prepared in our kitchen. Coquette’s wine list is a playful celebration of France’s most under-appreciated regions and boldest winemakers.

Excellent food and service. Had dinner during restaurant week. Vol au vent and creme brulee is a must try.

Food was good, but not great. The meal started out with a sourdough bread with a creamy spread. The bread was great and the spread was okay. I then had a ravioles appetizer which tasted pretty good, but it also had a fishy taste that I was initially surprised by. The item in the menu made no mention of seafood. I had the Faux filet Steak, medium rare. I would’ve preferred the fat cap to be rendered down a bit more as it was a bit chewy. Also, not much salt/pepper on the steak, but they did provide a drizzle in a container that had a bit of a citrusy flavor to it. It was a good sauce to give the steak some saltiness. The fries were kind of cold and soggy, but they came with a dipping sauce that was really good. I ordered an Old Fashioned that was made very well. For dessert I had the Tarte Au Chocolat. This was good and similar to tarts I have had in France in the past. Service was slow, which I expected from a place like this, but it was a little too slow for my personal liking. Ambience was nice and quiet, but the cafe style seating was not comfortable, especially for such slow service. The chairs were small with a 1/2 back and the tables were small cafe style circular tables. They were challenging to eat dinner on. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give them a 6 at best. Yea better than average, but not worth a $400+ dining experience for 3 adults and 1 child. To be fair, i did tip the waiter well because i thought he did a great job and was very nice! Every time i called him over he had a great attitude and explained the menu items nicely!

The food was absolutely amazing. I’ve been tiring of sushi and Italian lately so I thought I’d try this place. We had 2 appetizers - mushroom ravioli and the date thing. My date had the salmon and I had the sea bass with Bouillabaisse. We had the Sancerre to drink. A great date place highly recommended.

Very disappointing. Service was horrible! Our server took 45 mins to take our order. He never checked on us to see how are food was nor if we wanted another round of drinks during the 45 mins we waiting for our appetizer. We asked for their bread and that took about 30 minutes and the bread wasn’t even toasted. We had dinner reservations at 8:00p and we didn’t leave the restaurant due to extremely slow service until around 10:45pm with no dessert……

Had a great dinner. The French onion soup was delicious. So often this type of soup is very salty. This one was seasoned perfectly. The burger was juicy and delicious. Definitely want to return. My only criticism is on a rainy evening, it wasn't clear where one could park. We wound up finding a spot on Randolph. If most of the clientele are taking an Uber, then I guess it doesn't matter. For suburbanites, it's a good thing we know the city.

Asked for a medium rare steak it was medium to medium well. Ordered cauliflower with greyer cheese came out lukewarm Pinned frites was a scant portion and mediocre. Specifically told Wait staff that we needed to be finished eating and out of the restaurant at 7:30 after arriving at 6:30 and the food came out at 7:16. Place was not crowded. It was overpriced for the food and service. The food was mediocre and I spent more than 150. I like to spend money on fine dining and often spend more. But this was a major disappointment. And a French restaurant that doesn’t make Bernaise sauce for their meat and doesn’t have Pernod is not to be trusted. Find dining and we packed our food in to go boxes while an automatic device charge of 18% was added to the bill. Obviously will not be back. Obviously will not recommend this place to anyone.
