                              We came for Thanksgiving dinner and it was pretty obvious they were not prepared or this was a money grab for people looking for a thanksgiving meal from out of town. For $95 per person, I expected a much higher caliber of experience. We were sat in a random ballroom space with no decor and a staff that was clearly spread too thin. The food was mediocre and sparse. The chaffing dishes were haphazard like they had to borrow some because they didn’t have enough. The “cheese” station was like something you buy at publix. The “lobster” bisque was just in a random dutch oven. The salad station was rarely refilled and was all pre bagged precut. Had the food been phenomenal, the ambience of being sat in a random back room wouldn’t have bothered me, but the whole meal felt like an afterthought. It was so ill planned our martinis arrived in water glasses because they ran out. Again, not normally things I would complain about but when you have a $100 per person price tag, you better have something to show for it. Love St Augustine and cannot wait to go back but would 1000% go to the pub down the street for burgers because paying an arm and a leg for a meal I could have pre-purchased at Publix and would have been better is criminal.

                              Was disappointed in our experience in our Thanksgiving dinner at Cordova. Had to wait in a long line to be seated. There was nothing special about the the banquet room or table. The room as noisy and it was hard to hear our guests at our table. The buffet stations were well spaced, but none of the food was labeled and it was difficult to know what some of the items were or what was in them. It made it difficult for people with food restrictions, as there were no servers around to ask questions. There was really nothing special about most of the items. Most were good, but not exceptional. For the price per person, one would have expected a higher quality and better presentation of food. Their desserts were also mediocre. Overall there was nothing special about the meal. For a historical, well known hotel in the heart of such a famous city, one would have expected a much better meal. I was hosting four out of town guests, it was my first time there and I was dissapointed that we were not treated to a more elegant dinner for the cost of the meal.

                              We were seated 30 minutes late and then “encouraged” to finish up at the regular time so we felt rushed and short changed

                              Very good spread and service. Only suggestion it to keep an eye on the silverware (spoons) for soup and large plates would run out.

                              The Cordova staff were so nice! I can't say enough nice things about them! Our waiter even purchased me a dessert for my anniversary that I was celebrating! Such an unexpected, nice gesture! The food was absolutely amazing! Melt in your mouth delicious! Lovely atmosphere with low lightening on the beautiful decor including the gorgeous Christmas trees. Soft live piano music topped off the atmosphere. Only confusion was the valet only parking at Casa Monica hotel where Cordova is located. The valet parking is past the Starbucks underneath the hotel. When you turn in it looks like you will drive into a staircase but the valet attendants are there. Highly recommend!!!
