   Delightful dinner for 4. Two of our party had Birthdays to celebrate and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. One of our party had food allergies and staff were very knowledgable and assuring with plenty of choice. We have a lovely evening and couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere or experience. Will definitely return. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but can’t remember any specific names. Such an enjoyable, relaxed evening with delicious food and wine.

   This has to be one of my favourite Edinburgh restaurants. Table for 8 with inclusive Xmas menu. All guest thrilled with all three courses. Super environment in newly refurbished restaurant. Upstairs afforded plenty space for larger parties. Service second to none. Complementary dessert wine provided. Well done!

   Another lovely trip to Cotes. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Food was tasty and I love there is not an issue with me being gluten free

   Food is not bad but some ingredients were overcooked while others were undercooked. It is a French brasserie but the amount of butter used in cooking even the simplest sauce is way too much.

   Having booked the restaurant in aug for a late nov meal, I was surprised to be offered only a table in the bar area with the excuse 'it's a rugby weekend and we are busy'. As I was there for the rugby I knew that which is why I booked early, and was expecting a table in the restaurant, not a chilly bar area. The starter of baked Camembert was warm but not hot. My steak, when it came 1hr 10 mins after ordering food, was so cold it wasn't melting teh garlic butter on top. Also the order did not come with the side dish I ordered. When I complained, I was immediately offered a fresh steak, and it duly came and was acceptable. The staff offered to remove the cost of the steak from the bill and offered a free glass of wine due to my inconvenience, both of which were accepted. However, eating in the bar area was not a great evening.

   Terrible. We were a group of 9 who were forgotten . We waited 2 hours approx. for starters which were mixed up . The waiters were inexperienced and gave one persons starter to the whole table . After approximately 3 hours we approached the waiters and manager and spoke to them . When some of the mains came they were cold , not cooked or overcooked , with parts of order missing . i.e. Steak on its own no chips or veg ??? We sent food back and asked for the bill. Some of our party had virtually nothing to eat ! The manager was very apologetic and did not charge us for any of the food , we just paid for drinks . Unfortunately we didn’t have time to go anywhere else for food before our train so some of the party stayed hungry till we got home at 9pm . Disaster but I suppose they did try to make amends .

   Lovely food, and excellent service. Alvaro was our waiter today. He was attentive without hovering which I prefer. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. We were able to sit over our meal and take our time so it was a really great afternoon. Food came nicely presented and hot straight from the kitchen, servings were decent, and as described on the menu. Facilities were clean and well maintained. An extremely enjoyable experience - thank you.
