    Our Restaurant menu is available Thursday & Friday evenings + all day Saturday & Sunday. Our Bar Snack menu is also available - you're welcome to order from either. You may be seated in either of our dining rooms. We allow a 2 hour sitting time for each table, but this will only be kept to if we are really busy and have bookings after yours. Otherwise, you're welcome to stay as long as you like.

    A limited menu, no specials board and only one vegetarian choice - risotto with pearl barley which was scrumptious and worth the wait. Friendly and helpful staff.

    Good food, friendly service, lovely atmosphere and able to take the dog which was brilliant. We all had a super evening.

    Limited menu which made it easier to decide! Food was fantastic and despite being unexpectedly short staffed, Amelia and Ryan did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly and everyone happy!

    Great pub and the food is really superb! Excellent customer service and friendly staff. Coupled with a great selection of drinks and great decor I would definitely recommend a visit!

    Limited menu choices during the week is ok but the selections were not well balanced. Took > 1 hour to serve group of 8 despite pre-booking. Low value for money overall. Soup returned as luke warm. Service friendly and ambience good.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was extremely tasty and portion sizes perfect. A very friendly atmosphere. We sat outside ,which was perfect in the summer. We were made to feel very welcome.

    new ownership - friendly welcoming. Clearly from restaurant background the food was excellent and a step up from usual pub grub espeically in this area The gravy in the steak pie was divine, the chips were excellent and plenty of them, green beans with almonds delicious and the chicken leg succulent We all had great meals. I'd perhaps have put actual peas rather than mushy peas with mackerel because they were drowned Overall impressed and will be back

    The Craven Heifer: A Stellar Experience Our family enjoyed a walk near Stainforth and lunched at the recently reopened Craven Heifer. It was an outstanding experience. Under new management, the pub boasts a beautiful redecoration, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The incredibly friendly staff offered warm, attentive service, making us feel valued. The food is exceptional, blending traditional pub classics with a gourmet touch. The steak pie was a highlight, and the pulled pork was equally impressive. The kids loved their bangers and mash. All ingredients are locally sourced from Yorkshire, Lancashire, and the Lakes. Dessert was superb, with creamy ice cream and a speciality cheese board featuring fine cheeses paired with biscuits and chutneys. The Craven Heifer promises a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for any occasion!
