Imagine you are going to have a NYE dinner at a 5 start hotel restaurant. You arrive and you receive the worst experience in your life: - no utensils at the table - we waited for drinks for 50+ minutes and we have not even seen the drink menu (we waited to get waters for 30 minutes) - it was only appetizers and shellfish dishes available - nobody could find me a manager for 30+ minutes - a waiter offered champagne on the house to make up for terrible service and then TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR IT - after we refused to pay for drinks which we waited for 50+ minutes, the waiter tried to bring the bill AGAIN - people had to sit outside because they ran out of seating and everyone was very frustrated -I’m trying to connect with the GM of the restaurant with no luck so far. It’s beyond disappointing for the amount of money we paid…

We booked in advance for the New Years celebration. We were severely disappointed since the cost for 2 people was $650!! There was not enough tables and were forced to sit outside (which did not have nearly enough lighting or heaters) or at the bar. The male bartender was extremely rude, however the others were quite friendly and nice. The food was mediocre at best. The raw bar was poorly done and picked over as well as the only other food station- seriously pimento cheese and crackers. Very disappointed considering our cost. I would not recommend booking a NYE celebration with them. There was not enough room and they were poorly prepared.

We decided to splurge on a $325 per person NYE celebration dinner at L'Augerge de Sedona. The location, set by the creek, was serene, and the staff were friendly and did their best, but the event itself was poorly organized, somewhat chaotic, and overpriced. Seating was open, first-come, first-served, with far too few spots for everyone. “Dinner” consisted of small buffet stations spread across the grounds, offering charcuterie, overly salty shellfish, hidden paella, and desserts. Drinks had to be ordered at the bar, and while they were excellent, they were not included in the price—not even a glass of champagne for the occasion. We ended up sitting outside under a heater and managed to piece together a meal while jovially commiserating with neighboring guests. Given the price and location, it was not what we were expecting.

Me and my wife had a brunch breakfast on New Year’s Eve. It turned out to be the priciest brunch breakfast we had in our life. $298 before tip was charged for two people’s brunch plus two cups of Americano (It’s just a regular breakfast brunch that you can have anywhere in most of the four stars plus hotels in the country. Nothing special. No alcohol drink was ordered). I appreciate the hotel operates on holiday for tourists who visit Sedona. But with this price, I’ll never encourage anyone to have breakfast there.

My husband and I were in town for our anniversary and decided to splurge for dinner. We were not disappointed. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything well seasoned, cooked beautifully, and arrived at the perfect temperature. Our waitress graciously offered us champagne to celebrate our event . We look forward to returning for a Sunday brunch. The grounds by the creek are beautiful . We highly recommend!

Unfortunately we didn’t have the experience we’d hoped for. Our reservation was at 7:30pm, but we weren’t seated until 8:15pm, and didn’t receive an apology or even a round of drinks. The dinner, a six course tasting menu on Christmas, was $225/person. Two of the courses were extremely salty, and the steaks were not all cooked to the request of the diners. I will admit we didn’t bring these issues to the attention of our server (who was absolutely lovely) and so did not give the restaurant an opportunity to make things right, but for the price point, I had high expectations the evening would be exceptional. Not up to Auberge standards in this diner’s opinion.
