    This was our first visit to Cuban 1958. Our waiter, José was very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The garlic herbed butter that was served with the crusty Cubs. bread was delicious. The housemaid Sangria was fruity and refreshing. My grouper piccata was fresh and perfectly cooked in a butter lemon sauce. My friends loved their Chicken and Rice and pork dishes. Other than a bit of a delay for our second round of drinks, the service was impeccable. The noise level was somewhat high, but tolerable since we were seated in a corner window table. Would highly recommend. The menu is interesting and one could return many times. I look forward to our next visit.

    The food was incredible! One of the best cuban restaurants I have been to. We had the beef empanadas, churrazo steak, shredded flank steak and rice pudding. All delicious and very fresh. Cant wait to come back to sarasota and visit this restaurant again. The service was fast and very attentive. The owner circulates around to check in. He is very nice and fun to talk to.

    We have dined here at least 5 times now since the opening and have recommended to everyone. The portions are large and you will likely have leftovers to enjoy the next day! The black beans are the best I have ever had. Other favorites are the Vaca Frita, Churrasco, sweet plantains and the tostones! Highly recommend. We have added to our top restaurant recommendations to new buyers and visitors - The Addy Wittig Team with Michael Saunders. A wonderful experience by a family owned establishment.

    we arrived at 6 and our meal came at 7:45pm - it was a nightmare. I had a party of 6 people and none of us will ever return - just awful

    We dined with another couple. Three entries were plenty. The food was amazing. We started with the Cuban sausage appetizer; chirizo al vino. It was amazingly delicious. We shared paella cubana (seafood), arroz con pollo (chicken) and vaca frita (beef). Each dish was perfectly flavorful and filling. We added a side of deliciously prepared sweet plantains; muduros. Churros served with a rich chocolate sauce finished our meal. All of us were delighted with the food and the experience. Definitely we will be back.

    The food is outstanding. Cozy restaurant with great service. Patio open on weekends. Cheesecake one of the best in Sarasota. The pork and black beans and rice were excellent. Our friends had seafood dishes Rhett enjoyed.

    The front section of the restaurant was quite busy so we were seated in the back area/garden which we really enjoyed. The food arrived quickly - we ordered appetizers instead of entrees. We are Cuban so we know how big the portions are so we opted for appetizers instead . Food was delicious and authentic. Service for us was great - attentive. We'll be back !

    This was our first time dining at Cuba 1958. We were seated in the very back section on their patio, which was very nice with only four or five tables. I’m glad we did because the main dining room was very noisy. Our server was very nice and informative.  complementary bread and a garlic butter that was delicious. For my entrée, I had the ribs that were absolutely delicious. My wife had a shrimp and orzo dish which she liked. I would say the food prices are reasonable along with the wine, but the cocktails were very overpriced. The cocktails arrived in a glass just slightly larger than a juice glass and were $16 each. Literally about three or four sips and It was gone. The owner stopped by to see how everything was, which was a nice touch. All in all it was a very nice meal and we will try it again. We’ll just stick to the wine which is at a reasonable price.

    The food and the service were very good. But the place is tightly packed and extremely noisy. No conversation, even with someone within inches of you, is possible.
