Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale and walking distance from the beach shore, Dal Contadino Trattoria is a celebration of rustic homestyle Italian cuisine. Indulge in a relaxing ambiance while enjoying handmade pastas, a catch of the day, Tuscany steak and daily specials crafted by Chef Nuccio.

Live Music on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.
Social Mondays: 1/2 OFF cocktails, $2 meatballs/each. Wine Tuesdays: 1/2 OFF bottles of wine up to $100.
Happy Hour: special menu offering select food and drinks, everyday from 4-6 pm at the bar and bar area only.

First I am a repeat customer and the food is phenomenal. I made my reservation early, for 5:30. Upon arrival we were met at the door and walked through the virtually empty restaurant to a table the size of a snack tray. When my wife said no we were directed to another snack tray sized table. I said no picked a larger table and sat. The hostess was not happy. My server came over promptly dropped off the menu and took our drink order. While there he asked if we were ready to order! Really, you literally just put the menu down! To make along story short within the first 10 minutes the server arrived at our table 3 times asking for not only our appetizer order but what we wanted for dinner too. If he had his way we would have been served our mail course 20 minutes after getting there. We were feeling rushed as it was, but while waiting for the server to come and get our money another person came over and started clearing the table. But to the extent that they were leaning over my wife from behind as she was finishing her wine! Oh the people at the snack tray sized table behind us didn’t appreciate the maneuver either as the employees butt was in the wife’s personal space. As we left the still not half full restaurant, I thought what a shame, great food but for the second time in a row the rest of the experience was a 0. We won’t be going back.

The classic neighborhood Italian place you have been looking for. We were in town after a cruise and wanted some really good Italian. Found this place on Open table and thought we would give it a shot...we were not disappointed. The food is better than anything i have ever had in Italy. Service top notch and the best part, the chef came out and started singing. Such a warm and friendly vibe, will be back next time I'm in town.

The food is delicious & authentic Italian fare. Service from Johnna, our server/bartender, was excellent. The chef even came out to sing some Italian songs! Great night!!

Our reservation through open table was not on their list of reservations. We were seated anyway.

The food here is always on point! The lasagna, zucchini flowers and pear pasta were each outstanding! Our server tonight, Johnna was superb!

We went on a Monday evening and expected the restaurant to be empty. What a surprise we had. 30 minutes after we arrived the place was completely full. Maybe it was because of the half price cocktails, or because many restaurants are closed on Monday evenings, but it could be because they are a family run Italian restaurant with great service and great food. We started with the stuffed zucchini blossoms (great but a little expensive), and octopus (great, tender and tasty), and lasagna (lightly and exquisite). We then had the daily special of lamb shank, which was tasty and tender), linguine with clams (tasty and plenty of large clams), and osso buck (a large portion with a good quantity of meat on the bone). We also enjoyed a bottle of Langhe Nebbiolo which was a perfect accompaniment. The servers was attentive and gracious. In addition the inside table seating, there is seating at the bar and tables outside, both in a covered patio and on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant. We would definitely go back.

Great spot; very tasty dishes; although, our server seemed to be overwhelmed .. had to call for attention every time we needed something; over capacity seating. Towards the end of our meal they were trying to clear us away just as I was enjoying my espresso & canoli to flip the table. Not saying I wouldn’t go back just sharing my experience!

We made reservations for 730. We didn’t get into the restaurant until almost 8. There was a huge crowd outside, and it was an even bigger crowd on the inside. We finally sat down on a table where you couldn’t really move around or anybody can move around by us except for my side where the server was a female. We ordered dinner. I ordered the vodka dish pasta with the vodka sauce reduction, and it had pancetta in it. My guest ordered the ravioli with veal. He ordered a vodka drink with soda. I ordered Chardonnay. He ordered meatballs as an appetizer two small meatballs came in a bowl. I should’ve let him eat both of them, but I realized how much he had for dinner. His pasta ravioli was $32 for the plate which is way too high for something he barely had in his plate. He was still hungry so he was eating mine which caused about 27 or $29 plus I had what they call a Mista MISTA salad that was $12 believe me it was not worth the 12. I’ve eaten in this restaurant several times before and I didn’t really have any problems which I didn’t have any now, but the food is good but way too expensive. My guest chose this restaurant because it’s close to where he lives a little further from me, but I’ve eaten here a number of times and he just wanted to please me by paying for my dinner and a restaurant I’ve eaten before. I would like to try other restaurants and I have around town. Guess it’s about the going right for cost. I don’t think I’ll be coming back too soon. I’d like to try someplace else. The server was very nice. The ambience was very loud because there’s so many people in there. They just packed them in. I prefer something more intimate. Like I said, the food is overpriced. Overall, I guess I would give the restaurant a three or four star even though I wasn’t totally happy.
