We are an award-winning restaurant with a beautiful waterfront location in Derby. We offer you classic British and European dishes with a modern twist, within a 200-year old former mill building: Darley Abbey Mills.

We also have two outdoor terraces so if you prefer, you can enjoy al-fresco drinks overlooking the River Derwent prior to your dining experience. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Darleys creates incredible flavours and stunningly-presented dishes that will delight you, all paired with the perfect wine or cocktail to make your experience complete.

Some things appeared to be deep fried putting a crunchy coating on most things and somehow seemed to take the flavour out. The Venue and location is really lovely albeit it didn’t have a car park. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

Sometimes you get what you pay for, yes price a little higher than your average restaurant but the quality of the food and service is excellent. If your looking for something a bit different and a real treat I can highly recommend giving this a try, we had the 3 course menu and every plate was delicious from start to finish, will definitely be returning 5*****.

All the staff were great, but I found several dishes over seasoned, which spoiled the experience. Taste, taste, taste!

The menu is boring never changes, no where to park Been three times now being a veggie only one meal on the menu same every time. Disappointed

Hi Peter Thank you for your review. We are imminently going to be launching a separate Veggie/Vegan menu with 3 choices for starter, 3 main course options and 3 desserts. This is after evaluating recent constructive feedback. Our menus change with the seasons, often sooner. You say there is nowhere to park? I'm confused! In the evening there is ample spaces around the whole mill complex to park your vehicle, literally any space is available. Separate to this we have sponsorship in place with Derby Rugby Club and you can park in one of there 200 spaces. It is then just a short walk to the restaurant. This information is depicted in your reservation confirmation. We do base the continuous improvement of Darleys upon our guests constructive, we proactively engage and update

Our second visit to Darley’s for the Bistro Menu and we weren’t disappointed! All three courses were exquisite. Beautiful views of the weir, beautiful food and drink, served professionally. What’s not to like? We will undoubtedly return, probably with friends next time.
