   Terrible place to have dinner, lack of service, food doesn't taste any better than fast food, i guess thats the reason why even Friday night they weren't that busy. The supervisor with suit/tie, when we complainend about the poor service with him, dude never apologize for their service, instead he questioned guests tone and attitude wasn't right, then hes pointing and talking to the guests with colleagues from distance.

   A disappointing experience overall. We went for the weekend brunch close to the start time of the buffet. The spread is rather underwhelming with barely 1 meat dish and 1 fish item with the rest being salads or pickles. The hot food felt like it had been drying on the counter for a while and the items were not replaced promptly. [Edit]There is no way that was made the same day. The vegetables looked dead and stuck to the buffet tray.. What I found odd was the arrival of fresh looking hot food at the tail end of the buffet, this suggests that we were fed the previous days buffet items. For $40, with drinks extra this is rather senselessly expensive, underwhelming and if indeed they served the previous days items, crime enough for me never to visit there.

   Cannot recommend Darya enough. The food was incredible and we could actually have a conversation without shouting, which is a rarity these days.

   I hosted a dinner at Darya's following a conference with 15 people and it was an amazing experience; many folks hadn't ever been to Halifax and loved both the setting of the restaurant (on the water) and the food. I have a severe nut allergy and the waiter was able to provide all nut-free appetizers. We ordered individual dinner plates (I had the lamb souvlaki) and the food was superbly flavoured. The service was excellent and we had a uniformly superb experience!
