Had a great experience for a birthday dinner here. Waiter was warm and engaged with our table, and he offered good suggestions for appetizers. Food came out quicker than I would have anticipated, which was great. Food was fresh, with good flavor in the meats.

We are return customers !! This establishment has lost its luster ! Gone is the comfort food we long for!! Persians would be embarrassed by the quality of the food here. The kubideh was burnt and dry, rice was small grain not authentic basmati with food coloring instead of saffron, khoresht Bademgan - eggplant stew- had a strong flavor as if over spiced with dry sour limes and the eggplant was not prepared correctly, they were very bitter and uncooked and the french fri topping were dry sticks and canned. The yogurt dip was not minty and fresh it was watery . The lavash was cold and stale The drinking water was not filtered and tasted like bathroom sink water - I think this was used for the rice!! Friday night was not busy My husband spoke to the manager kindly - he's was honest and expressed his disappointment. They remade the Kubedeh and he never returned. Obviously from our experience and the restaurant being dead on Friday night at 8 pm this restaurant is no longer a place to return. This is a reflection of poor management will be the demise of this once special place.

Take it from a Persian who's had persian food his entire life, both in America and Iran. Darya is one of the best, if not THE best Persian restaurant in OC. Recipes are always on point, food quality is consistent, service is always great. My favorite persian spot.

I usually don’t leave feedback on experiences for I usually like to witness thing on my own accord, but to do this with Darya’swould be a great injustice to you. The food here is amazing and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Lolis took our order and made you feel like you were family. Attentative, understanding, and … well let me just say she throughly enjoys her job. This says so much for the staff and the whole restaurant in itself. Do yourself a favor and take the time to enjoy this diamond in Costa Mesa. You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful setting. Elegant. Service was superior. Had reserved a quiet table and that was honored. Although a large banquet came in toward the end of our meal, the service remained attentive and gracious nevertheless. Meat, side dishes, and desserts were top notch. Eager to return for our next meal out.
