Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den.



The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. The global cuisine experiments with a bevy of different flavors including unique items such as Grilled Panzanella Salad (jumbo lump crab, toasted focaccia, local goat cheese, pistachios, plum wine vinaigrette), Kobe Beef Sliders (seared foie gras, pomme frittes). A gluten-free menu is also available along with a popular weekday happy hour from 5 to 6:30 pm.

                                                    Overall excellent as always. In my opinion, one of the best places for sushi in Colorado. Was a bit noisy for a Tuesday, but our waiter was exceptional which made up for the noise.

                                                    Really bad service, we were very disappointed because the restaurant looked beautiful and the menu overall was great. We had to wait forever after our order was put in, some items were forgotten. We had to ask our waiter for certain items multiple times and he never came back around for refills, he said that he was in the bathroom that whole time even though we saw him standing around.

                                                    We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and man oh man we were so impressed!!!!! The food was a serious 10/10 Our favorites were the black miso cod, blue fin nigiri and the lychee margarita was top notch we ordered our favorite dishes twice. The food was so fresh, my only let down was how tight nit and packed but other than that we are definitely coming back

                                                    We came for our daughter’s birthday and the food was okay. Not the best or worst sushi we had. We also ordered sriracha garlic shrimp and it was good; however, we ordered a side of mashed potatoes and it was cold. The service was also okay, we didn’t have utensils to eat for our main course so we had to search for that, I probably won’t go back.

                                                    Really disappointed with Izakaya Den food, restaurant feels like maybe it has run its course. Sushi was mediocre and all cooked items arrived cold at our table. Bad expensive food experience at a place that was once amazing.
