At Desi Dhaba the food is cooked the way Indians would want to eat it. Authentic, tasty and flavored with true spices to come up with original and unique dishes that come from the street eateries of Indian Highways. The service is prompt and efficient with staff dressed in bright Punjabi apparel. Staff is attentive and interested in what you would like to eat, rather than pushing things down your throat. The walls of dining room are decked with extensions of countryside huts and there funny captions on them which come from the Indian truck drivers. An authentic, tasty and flavored with true spices to come up with original and unique dishes that comes from the street eateries of Indian Highways. The service is prompt and efficient with staff dressed in bright Punjabi apparel. Staffs are attentive and interested in what you would like to eat, rather than pushing things down your throat. We also serve Indian breakfast which you won’t get anywhere else.

The food was good! The ambience was good but was more authentic to a Dhaba (highway pitstop in India) than I was expecting. Good service but Their EFTPOS machine was not working and we literally had to empty our last pocket change to pay for our food which was a big put off

Last min thy cancelled the onljne table booking which made us disappointed during mid nite 11:45pm we roamed around for food at mid night along with little kids (3 family’s).

Good night, food was excellent. Tandoori platter was excellent as was the keema naan and roti.

Second visit, food is authentic, not excessively spiced, but loads of flavour that is well balanced. Enjoyed a selection of meat, veg and lentil dishes - all excellent. Only negative (slight) was the roti and paratha which were firm and a little tough. Staff friendly and work hard to keep food and drinks flowing. Nice atmosphere.

For our first trip to Melbourne what a lovely find of quality Indian food. The service was a bit slow but efficient and friendly. The food was quality from start to finish. Would highly recommend it to others to try.

My wife & I had seen this restaurant on a travel/lifestyle show & it was talked up a lot. Was disappointed with the quality of the food. Service was great & ambience ok but the prawn vindaloo was too sour & the balance of flavours was amiss. The naans were soggy too. Alright for a one time eat out but I don't think we'll go there again.

We enjoyed our lunch very much. It was delicious and of high quality. More importantly, the staff were very friendly.

The food is very good and very Indian.I think the best Indian non-veg restaurant in CBD.The ambience is also good with lesser noise inside. Easily reachable in tram. Those from docklands etc can come to city for a team outing too.
