Owners Luis Raga and Raul Aguilera brings you their vision of a casual bar/restaurant in Spain: a fun and unpretentious spot to gather friends, family, or dates. We bring you flavors from all over Spain, the concept is tapas and paellas to be shared at the table. You'll see dishes come on and off the menu often and while we offer a broad selection of dishes, due to our small kitchen, certain tapas will run out during the service. Don’t miss our Happy hour Mon-Fri 5-6pm ONLY on BAR & HIGH TOPS for heavily discounted tapas and drinks.
Also, make sure to check our back patio, it will transport you to a warm summer night of the south of Spain.
If driving street parking could be tricky, check out the SF general hospital parking structure just 2 blocks away from the restaurant. If coming from the East Bay or Peninsula location is just a few blocks from the freeway (exit Cesar Chavez/Potrero on the 80 freeway). The nearest Bart station is at Potrero & 24th, a 15-minute walk.

    We stopped here for lunch. The paella was delicious and freshly made. The cured meat and cheese appetizer was nicely put together and very good. The staff was very friendly and made recommendations for what we ordered that were helpful. I'll definitely come back here for dinner with my husband.

    We love paella and were very happy to find this place. Their paella mixta was delicious! We also had the devilled eggs with trout roe. It was so good. I usually worry about ordering sangria because most of the time it has a bitter taste but Destapas' was delicious! I would highly recommend this authentic Spanish restaurant.

    The entire dining experience was great. We got space at the bar. Their wine list is small but some good finds in it. Food menu was extensive for a small tapas lounge and everything we tried was great. Octopus is a must-have. Raul, the owner, was super friendly and so was our server. Will definitely visit again when in San Fran.

    This is my 3rd visit and I brought my friends tonight. I loved my prior meals. This time, the food and service were not nearly as good as before. One order was wrong (though they brought the correct one when we told them) and one of the desserts that we ordered never arrived. The paella was over cooked. I’ll likely try again but I was quite disappointed tonight.
