Very disappointing New Years Eve meal. Repeat booking as last year was amazing . Waited 45 minutes for starters to arrive which were ok but not as good as last year . Three main meals arrived - one missing after 10 minutes asked staff who said it was being plated up. When it arrived it was cold. Staff spent more time setting up for evening meal - doing decorations & moving furniture . Will not return !

Poor quality food, the chips were cold, dry and tasteless. I would not rush back.

Visited three days after Christmas Day and received a warm friendly welcome and excellent service for the whole visit . Food well presented and delicious , only critic was the fish really didn’t have much taste (no beer batter taste or seasoning ) and the tartar sauce should be in a separate dish not on the plate , mine has seeped in to the mushy peas and the chips . The lamb and the pie were superb , lots of meat in the pie . The baked Alaska was delicious , a lovely change from the usual desserts . All areas of the place were busy with diners and praise has to be given to all the staff for their high standards in all areas of their hospitality. An added bonus - it’s a dog friendly destination .

Lovely Boxing Day meal together with friends and family including a 1 year old. Attentive but not intrusive service. Food was very tasty and the kids menu was perfect.

Table was booked for 3:15pm and we sat down to eat at 4:05pm. Service was poor due to them not having enough staff to run bar and restaurant area. We all ordered soup which was lovely, x 5 of us had turkey Xmas meal, limited veg only carrots on plate with roasted potatoes stuffing and turkey. Food was nice but minimal had more choice and larger portion for a Sunday meal. Husband’s steak was fatty and also a small portion. Desserts were microwave just heat except the ice cream sundae which was just cherry sauce with waffles inside it. We paid over £90 per person for very poor service and basic food, for that price was expecting a more lavish dinner especially also with it being Christmas Day. Understand it was the first year that they had ran this but when paying prices as we did, think it needing to be more refined and organised. Felt sorry for waitress staff that had to deal with many complaints from people on last sitting some refusing to pay or wanting monies back / free drinks due to the service and poor meal served. All of these were refused by the management staff. Think they definitely need to review and be more organised / prepared if doing this for next year.
