   I had the fried chicken which needed to be seasoned. And the sweet potato pie could have been a bigger piece.. Also the glass of juice could have been bigger as well.. Over all it was nice

   We had reservations for Valentine's dinner. My fiancé and I really enjoyed our time there. We had been talking about going to Dewy's for a long while and we finally made it and we are very happy that we did. We will for sure be returning. Thank you.

   The food was bland, the drinks were not well made (no strong flavors but also no kick). I did not get a buzz from the drinks, but I did get a headache that began before the night was over and lasted until the late morning of the next day. The music was also incredibly loud for such a small venue. Not at all worth how expensive everything was.

   We booked a reservation for my mother’s birthday brunch, unbeknownst to us there was apparently a large party downstairs. There was no mention of this during booking or when we were seated. We had a reservation for 11 when they first opened. Our server came to us after about 10 minutes to take our order and we placed drinks and food at the same time. About 20 minutes after the server told us the kitchen was going to be longer than usual due to this large party but we were told just 30 minutes from when we ordered which we thought nothing of. The manager came by to ask how our waters were as that and coffee were all we had at about the 45 minute mark of being in the establishment. Long story short after being there for almost an hour we were given some cornbread assured that it was on the house and that food should be coming soon. Unfortunately, due to prior obligations of some of our party members we had to leave before we could get any food. We were told by the bar manager that the kitchen was fully staffed and then by the manager that a cook was out. The space is very cool and the menu seemed to be good but if they cannot handle a party and the regular brunch clientele at the same time perhaps it would be best to close for private events. At the very least, communicate with the patrons prior to ordering to at least be courteous of the fact that they may have other places to be as well as the fact that the parking is metered. Again, communicating the wait ahead of time, respecting reservations, and even having a more attentive wait staff/ maitre’d may have given us a better experience.

   We LOVE Dewey’s. But last night- wow we were very disappointed with the “Sunday Late Night Menu”. Nine items! Out of sauces. Not able to accommodate really simple menu requests. Cocktails were mediocre.

   Hi Christine, thank you for sharing your feedback. It’s disheartening to see a two-star review, especially since you’ve expressed that Dewey’s is a place you love. Our Sunday Night Menu is intentionally limited due to slower business on Sundays and the gradual closing of our kitchen, which unfortunately means we’re unable to accommodate special menu requests.     Great first experience! From the hostess to the waitstaff everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was SO GOOD! Appetizers, cajun shrimp dip, we cannot wait to go back for more! Crab cakes, so sweet and fresh tasty! Cornbread with cinnamon butter drizzling was a sweet taste for our palette. For dinner, one had the fried chicken breast, dirty rice and cabbage and she liked her meal. Another had, friend catfish she couldnt eat hers after all the apps and I had the sirloin, which melted like butter in my mouth, with the dirty rice and collard greens, all good, I was complete satisfied. Exhale then the desert. We shared the sweet potato pie which we found out was prepared by the establishment owner's grandmother, it was so light and airy a pure light sweet taste after all of this. Then we were personally checked on by the manager which gave us some history and more insiders on meals an libations to try. We were so happy we took the drive up, we sat on the second floor across from the stage, there was a DJ instead of a band scheduled and we could still talk without the music blaring over us. We will definitely be back!
