The third venue for the high-profile restaurateur couple Rinaldo Di Stasio and Mallory Wall, sits behind the King and Godfree complex on the corner of Lygon and Faraday Streets and has glamorous echoes of their Di Stasio Citta pleasure palace in the city.

Designed by architect Di Ritter of Hassell, also responsible for Citta, the pizzeria has three separate spaces inside, adorned with Reko Rennie artwork and Shaun Gladwell sculptures, and a courtyard bar centred around a fountain imported from the Roman countryside.

Chef Federico Congiu, who has worked with Di Stasio for five years, is making his own jersey milk mozzarella fiore di latte for the pizzas. Congiu has sourced five growers around the Yarra Valley to grow and preserve San Marzano tomatoes for pizza toppings and is having special durum wheat flour milled in Tamworth.

Loved the courtyard in the beautiful Melbourne sun. Food and service was amazing. Cant wait to come back on a hotter day in the summer.

We ordered oysters and Arancini for starters, these were tasty. The dirty martinis were very cute in the separate glasses and many olives! As the mains, they were a tad underwhelming and took a while to come out. The fish special was the best main out of them all, however, was quite small and not overly filling.

Overall an enjoyable dining experience at Di Stassio Carlton. Good lively ambience, polite and knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Highly recommended.

Another exceptional dining experience. Unlike many other restaurants in Melbourne, Di Stasio continues to deliver an impressive dining experience. The food is produced to the highest standards, the service is attentive without being overbearing. The wine list offers a journey of exploration if you so desire. As for the artwork, it’s distinctive. I’m waiting for the day that Melbourne turns on a gorgeous day and I can enjoy dining in the garden.

I love Di Stasio Carlton. It's got a great vibe, the best service and the food is so authentically Italian. The pizzas are especially delicious!

Will definitely be coming back again! Food was absolutely delicious and amazing, and the overall vibe of the place was so nice and unique.

Absolutely delicious Italian food that was impeccable. After a recent trip to Italy, I wanted pizza and pasta like there and this place did not disappoint. A great selection of food and drink made for a fantastic anniversary celebration for my wife and I. We will return.
