Doju 〜 a combination of Head Chef/Owner Mika Chae’s hometown Jeollanam-do and Meju, a fermented, Korean soybean block. Meju is the first step for making a number of Korean dishes like doenjang (Korean miso), ganjang (soy sauce) and gochujang (chilli paste). Since Doju is Mika’s first restaurant, Meju is perfectly incorporated into the name and sets the scene for meaningful, passionate food.

    Food was too salty, the marron was too small, the wagyu on the scallop tasted horrendous. The wagyu tasted fake! The butter on the potato was alien! At least the thy e strawberry cocktail was delicious! However, it was too sweet!

    Went for partner’s birthday. We both found the food amazingly fabulous for the price, and the staff very friendly and informative. Recommend the banquet with pairing to experience what they can do. Ben

    We dine out regularly throughout the year. At home, interstate and overseas. Each year we find one restaurant which stands out. This is the one! The food was exceptional. We shared three snacks, three entrees, a main and a dessert. But if there is one lasting memory it is their version of an Espresso Martini created by a very proud barman Hector. The reason we dine out is discovering once in while gems like this.

    Food was creative, well presented and delicious. We had the special banquet, the small dishes were the highlight! Service was great, we were lucky that our table was not booked after us, so we could have a great time chatting n enjoying the food to the fullest!
