   Delicious garlic knot, Caesar salad, bolognese, and eggplant parmesan. Very crowded for the Christmas season-- glad to see the restaurant is doing well!

   We regularly go to Double Zero. It’s always enjoyable and, up to last evening, never that crowded. We came at exactly 630 for a 630 reservation, and had our 2 grandchildren with us; in fact it was their request to go to Double Zero. (Next week is our grandsons birthday and guess where the reservation is?) The snippy, overly officious person at the desk told us it would be 15-20 minutes…(but it turned out to be 35 minutes) without any further explanation, which was insulting. So we went up to the bar, which was 2+ people deep. The bar manager, Daniel, very professionally explained that they were unexpectedly slammed because of a Christmas event at the church across the street. THAT would have been all the guy at the desk needed to say to make this a different review. It’s a perfect training opportunity. ‘Sir, we are so sorry that we’re are backed up but we were surprised by a nearby event… please go to the bar where we are offering Open Table reservation holders a complimentary glass of wine for your inconvenience’. But this explanation never came, just a curt, dismissive, condescending response. What he didn’t know is that my 50 year career was in hospitality. There are ways of handling and diffusing situations and this wasn’t one of them. On the good side, Daniel DID offer us cocktails said delighted us by saying sorry for the delay and they were on the house. That’s what hospitality is all about. Kudos to Daniel. The food was outstanding, as it always is, once we were seated. So my review is specifically focused on the (inhospitable) welcome experience and not the overall dining experience. Hopefully, training will resolve this kind of issue in the future.

   We went to the pizza making class! The Chef did a great job getting everyone involved! The table service did an outstanding job!!!

   Always a well-run restaurant from seating to staff to kitchen to bill. The food is authentic, delicious, made with top line ingredients.

   Our server took our drinks order and appetizer order at the start. The salad arrived in 2 minutes and we waited 15 minutes for our drinks. Our main course appeared very quickly and it was obvious that it was prepared before and heated up. I had the risotto with duck. The duck was dried out. My wife's chicken parm was also dry. During most of the the time we are our main course the manager or someone from the kitchen was talking to the people at the next table with his rear end nearly in my wife face. Not enjoyable. The entire meal was over in less than an hour and I felt rushed.

    We had a fantastic experience! Food was extraordinary and the menu was amazing! So many new and elevated dishes from the last time we were there. Garlic knot is a classic, so good, salads are fresh and delicious and of course pasta is outstanding! Service was great, stuff was knowledgeable and friendly, ambience was lovely, you cannot wish for more on a chill Saturday night. Lovely experience, definitely will be back for more of that delicious food!
