Always a great meal here. Service is great from moment you walk in and are greeted at host stand to the server and everyone else. I hit up The Downtowner every time I am in town. Never disappoints!!

Cozy and pretty interior with excellent acoustics so we could chat easily at the table. Really nice variety on the menu. At our table we ordered walleye sandwiches and a burger, all of which were delicious and hot. Bun and ciabatta bread were fresh, vegetables on the sandwiches were fresh and crisp. Sweet potato fries were excellent, not soggy. Great attentive table service.

This was my second time dining at the Downtowner and it was more impressive than my first. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. I ordered the lamb chops that did not disappoint, they were deliciously cooked to my liking in a perfect sauce. The only complaint I had was that my mashed potatoes were served on a separate saucer and they were cold. My other vegetables were perfect.

Initial inspection was pleasant. When you enter the restaurant, you'll see it's well appointed with mostly natural materials (namely stone walls, funky glass vases, and a very pretty open kitchen). The service was attentive, but not overbearing. The only low was the filet tenderloin. While the sauce was delicious, and the visual was amazing, the meat itself didn't quite make the mark. Otherwise, the appetizers and desert were all amazing and performed. In the end, I would highly recommend this as a great fine-ish (not quite casual, not quite fine dining) dining experience.

Service was not good. No refills on water. Had to be flagged down multiple times. Steak (filet) was not cooked right. Nice thing was, they took it off the bill. Overall… there are better places to go.
