Welcome to DOYA! We are a modern Aegean Meze + Bar restaurant in Wynwood. Chef Erhan Kostepen (formerly of Mandolin) offers plates to share, prepared over wood and coal fire. Besides a beautifully decorated dining room, we offer a theater kitchen with counter seats where guests can interact with the chefs directly. Our outdoor seating is a garden oasis unlike any other in Wynwood/ Miami.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Doya in Miami offers a vibrant dining experience with "delicious food and excellent service." The restaurant excels in Turkish Mediterranean cuisine, featuring inventive dishes and a "beautiful ambiance." Standout menu items include the "pastrami eggrolls" and "branzino carpaccio." Although the interior can be noisy, the outdoor seating provides a pleasant alternative.

What happened tonight completely ruined what should’ve been a special evening. A close friend of mine, who I hadn’t seen in over four years, is visiting me in Miami. It’s his second day here, and I wanted to make his birthday dinner memorable. I chose Doya, thinking it would deliver a standout experience. I mentioned the birthday in the reservation and even confirmed it with the manager on duty. I was expecting at least a small gesture — a piece of dessert with a candle, something simple but thoughtful to mark the occasion. Instead, the server (Argentinian, I didn’t catch her name) brought a single candle on a plain tea plate. No dessert. No effort. No moment. It was awkward, underwhelming, and honestly felt like a memorial rather than a celebration. The mood instantly shifted. We were both confused and disappointed. For a place with Michelin aspirations (or so it claims), this was shockingly careless and off-putting. Even a casual restaurant knows how to handle a birthday better than this. If it had been an option to pay for a proper dessert presentation, I gladly would have ,but there was no communication, no care.

We need more places like this! Great food and music in the background. Reminded me of vacations in Mykonos

We made a reservation for 8:30 and my guest arrived 5 min prior to me at 8:25. They sat him down and upon arriving no hostess was at the stand. I walked myself to the table and we sat there for 15 min before we hailed a water to send someome to take our order. No water, no drinks were offered to us The place was not busy at all. It was half way full. Finally, the waiter came and had to throw a comment to us that he was doing us a solild to help us out because it was not his section. We had 3 different people serving us and besside that Turkish gentlemen all were helpless. Even one of the server could not speak english and I had to revert to spanish to let her know the bread we had ordered had not been delivered. On the positive side, the dishes do come out extremely quickly. We had the ceviche which was more than underwhelming and was extremely warm to the taste. They kindly took it off the bill. The octopus comes with nothing besides the grilled octopus, which was dry. We had the beef dumplings, which were excellent , and the lamb chops were also very good over some rice. No desert were offered to us. Overall the service is extremely underwhelming. The food is hit or miss. The atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for it. You can tell that even on a slow night where they have all the opportunity to give the best attention to clients they missed every single mark. I will definitely not be coming back and cannot recommend anyone to go there. They are so much better option in the neighborhood for the money. It is the biggest disappointment given all the rave this restaurant is getting instead of paying influencer you should be paying somebody to train your staff to properly great guests. Somebody Again, besides the Turkish server who was extremely nice and apologetic the service is unacceptable at that price.

The service at this restaurant was not good. There were not enough waiters, so everything was very slow. The waiter who served us was rude at the beginning, which made us uncomfortable. Also, no one asked if we had any allergies, which is very important. Overall, the service was poor, and we did not have a good experience.

Did not get any service when we sat down. No one came to give us water or take our order. We were waiting more than 15 minutes and decided to walk out. Had a burger across the street instead., No waiter came up to us to help.

We chose Doya for my birthday because we love authentic Turkish food , but our experience was not very good . Our mezzos and kebaps were served together , despite requesting them separately . By the time we finished our mezes , the kebaps were cold. We enjoyed Doya kebap , the rest of the kebaps was not as good . However the atmosphere was lovely , especially the outdoor setting. For a place aiming to offer authentic cuisine , better service and timing would make a big difference . I believe keeping things authentic is important , especially for those of us who seek familiar flavors while away from home.
