Opened in 2010, Dunyā is designed and created by chef & owner Coskun Abik. Dunyā Restaurant has garnered local acclaim as a Mediterranean casual dining experience touched by the fusion of refined urban technique and culturally traditional flavors.

Offering fare inspired by fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, Dunyā brings this same delicate balance to a new era of vibrant Mediterranean dishes in an industrial chic setting located in the heart of San Francisco’s Nob Hill District.

The décor captures the warmth and feel of Mediterranean hospitality, while a vast floor to ceiling array of local and imported wine bottles is illuminated by blown glass filament pendants, inviting guests to pull up a chair to the full service wine bar.

What an excellent Mediterranean restaurant. The sample platter is a perfect all in one thing to get for two people. I left feeling very full and nourished!

Came here in a group of 3 — we shared the Muhammara, börek, and fries, then got our individual plates. 10/10

Walked in as a walk in, was told I could only sit at the bare without a reservation. So I hit at the bar and make a reservation for 2 for 15 mins later I showed them and they said no because I just made it. Mind you the restaurant was only occupied by 3 tables. Nonetheless they did not let me and my friend sit at the table and the tables remained empty the whole time we were there even though they were supposedly “reserved”. Food was decent, only good thing here is the wine.

Dunya - San Francisco ⭐☆☆☆☆ Dunya bills itself as a Mediterranean restaurant, but what it really serves is a lesson in disappointment. If I could give zero stars, I would, but alas, the system won’t let me. Let’s start with the falafel—the supposed star of the menu. It arrived cold, bland, and with the texture of a tennis ball left out in the rain. I’m not sure if “Dunya” translates to “inedible” in some language, but that would be the most accurate descriptor. The accompanying sides were equally tragic: the hummus tasted like it had been scooped out of a store-brand tub, and the pita? Dry, crumbly, and clearly on its last legs. Now, onto the pièce de résistance: the service. Our waitress approached the table like she was doing us a favor, begrudgingly took our order, and then promptly disappeared—only to reappear when it was time to drop the check. I didn’t leave a tip, because quite frankly, what was there to tip for? I assumed that would be the end of it, but no. She proceeded to complain—loudly—about the lack of gratuity, as though her nonexistent effort somehow deserved extra compensation. Newsflash: tips are earned, not extorted. Dining at Dunya was not just bad—it was an exercise in futility. If you’re looking for overpriced food served with a side of attitude, this is your place. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and walk, no, run in the opposite direction.

The food wasn't inexpensive but was very bland and honestly tasteless. We regularly go to a restaurant with similar dishes and it has very tasty food at a lower or comparable price. We were disappointed.

Dünya is wonderful Turkish restaurant. I bring so many friends here if they’re looking to try something new. Always tasty & very reliable. Usual order is the lentil soup, Muhammara, fries, and beyti.
