    I really enjoy Eataly in Boston and New York City, and was really excited when they put one into the Short Hills mall. We went when they first opened, and the service was really poor and they ran out of a lot of things, but we thought that was because they just opened but we went again yesterday (January 12) and the service was worse. Several of the entrées were not available because they had run out of them, they had “no beer“, the waiter had food on his beard and by the corners of his mouth, he asked if we had a drink order (and we found out there was no beer) And asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. We asked for tapwater, and he acknowledged it and then walked away. The water never came. He came back and asked for our orders, and we told him what we wanted and he told us that they didn’t have any left. We asked for a few more minutes. He came back, and we still couldn’t figure out what we wanted so we asked whether maybe he could get the water. It went on like this the rest of the night. The appetizer didn’t come, and our entrées came, and then about 10 minutes later they brought the appetizer. I asked for wine, and the waiter started describing a few wines He thought I would like when I had to ask for the Wine list. My salad was decent, but nothing special for the money. We couldn’t find the waiter and had to ask another waitress to bring the bill. She went and tried to find the waiter, but couldn’t, so came back and said that she’d ask someone else to bring the bill. The bill eventually came, and then the original waiter showed up and asked whether we enjoyed everything, like nothing had happened. I really don’t know what is going on there, but I think that if they trained their weight staff or maybe found higher quality weight staff, the entire experience would be better.

    The food is good, not great. My pasta bolognese was very good, but my friend ordered the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage which was watery and tasteless. The kale salad was delicious and would definitely order it again.

    We had been to Etaly in New York City. Same delicious food. Short Hills Mall was very crowded . Happy I made reservations . Everything was excellent.

    Despite an 8:30 reservation we weren’t seated until close to 9 o’clock. Our waiter walked past us three times before coming over to take our order. The food was awful, undercooked and tasteless. I literally had a soggy pizza. I really wanted to like this place, but the service and food were terrible.

    16 dollars for a mini-mille-feulle? It wasn't even good. It's not just the price but a distortion. Compared to the delicious desserts offered in the house's café, the mille-feulle with practically only cream stands against the house's standard. Please review this or just remove it from the menu. I felt cheated.

    Awful front host man who kicked off just a horrible experience. Service was so slow. Food was not good. Will never return. Nothing at all like the nyc location.

    I went on day 2 and they were just getting up and running. Fast forward to January and they had it all figured out + a kids menu which is a bonus.
