El Pinto is open for outdoor covered patio dining and indoor seating.

Open daily. Monday through Thursday from 11am-9pm. Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm. Sunday 10:30am-9pm.

Nestled in the cottonwoods, El Pinto was founded with 10 tables in 1962. Twin brothers John and Jim Thomas, carry on the family tradition and have expanded El Pinto into the quintessential "Spot" for healthy and fresh New Mexican cuisine. Experience an authentic Taste of New Mexico.

The Salsa Twins are pairing tradition with innovative healthy nutrition at El Pinto. El Pinto established the first and only Animal Welfare Approved laying hen program on property. 250 hens lay pasture raised eggs for daily use. An onsite green house produces over 5,000 lbs of organically grown greens.

Freshness is throughout El Pinto. El Pinto uses chile from Hatch, NM, pasture raised pork from Kyzer Farms, and local grass fed beef.

We are local and were not happy with the green Chile we thought it was pretty blank and tasteless even though the waiter cautioned us it was really hot. We did not like the green Chile sauce it was more tomatoes and green chile that was watered down. We did get sides of chopped green chile which still was not hot. The salsa was great, food was ok. Our out of town guests were happy and enjoyed their meals. The waiter was very nice and pleasant. Now we know if we are looking for New Mexican food to not get the green chile but it's great for tourists.

The service here is hit or miss. We've experienced great, attentive servers, and we've had phantom servers who take forever and let your cups go dry. The food is consistently good. The interior is so large, some of the dining rooms are very nice, some are rustic, and some are straight up bleak. Overall my family and I typically enjoy our experience.

We have been coming here since 1971 when it was considered a "locals" place. Loved it then and it is still our "go to place" to bring out of town company.

A nice charming place for lunch. Fireplaces were cozy on a windy day.

Food wasn’t as good as it has been. Service was excellent and fast. Took us longer to drive there than it did to sit, eat and leave. I did not like that we were seated in what seemed to be the loud children and baby room. We’ve eaten there 3 times in recent weeks after not eating there for years. It will probably be awhile before we eat there again. And yes I could have asked for a different seating area and I wish I had.

It was not our usual El Pinto experience this time. The room was cold as the temperature was dropping. A fire was lit shortly after our arrival, but the doorway that the staff used to access things created a draft. After a while, it then became much too warm. Our server seemed new and didn't get our guacamole order in the system since we got it after our entrees arrived when we asked about it. Our food and drinks were top notch, as usual. We understand that there can be a break in period for new staff and we can roll with the flow. We still highly recommend El Pinto!
