We are bringing "True Greek" to the Upper West Side. At eléa, we only use the finest quality ingredients (Grade 1 Yellow Fin Tuna, Loche Duarte Scottish Salmon) to create traditional "True Greek" fare. Now Open, on the heels of the successful summer opening of Kyma Flatiron, sister restaurant eléa on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. With an open split-level design punctuated with traditional Grecian pottery and décor, eléa will transport guests to a romantic island vacation while also evoking an intimate, softly lit aesthetic perfectly suited for the uptown neighborhood. Meaning “olive” in ancient Greek, eléa offers guests a menu of soulful and modern Greek dishes that encompass flavors across the region’s many islands and terrains.

5 stars for Elea on West 85th. The restaurant was packed and our table delayed, but the Maitre d had the good sense to introduce himself to us and offer a glass of wine. That gesture set the tone for an evening of excellent service. Our server, a lovely young Athenian, was knowledgeable about the food and attentive. The food was perfect, tasty and expertly cooked. Everything was of wonderful.

The food and service at Elea's are ALWAYS exceptional. I ordered my favorite Prasini Salad and Spanakopita. The salad was fresh and light, and the spanakopita is always savory with the flakiest crust! I cannot wait until my next visit to this neighborhood favorite.

We are regular customers from the neighborhood and love the restaurant. However, we found the fish to be on the drier side in taste that evening. Otherwise all was good. Thank you.

The food is exquisite but the ambiance and attentiveness of the staff makes dining with them a special treat. Strongly recommend.

Just an absolutely awful way to spend a Valentine’s Day. I am only writing this based on the “experience” not on the every day nature of the restaurant which I can’t judge / compare because this was my first time dining. Seated downstairs and were rushed. Prix fixe menu failed as the food was not prepared right - shrimp dish (starter) was undercooked. The bus boys rushed us out of our courses and even grabbed the fork out of my partners hand when she wasn’t even done eating. It just failed from beginning to end and it cost over $300! Never again and I would think the restaurant would do some for of restitution but let me guess, that would never happen as I’m not sure they care - they definitely care enough when we were there on v day

Two of us shared the baked salt crusted fish, which was excellent. But another had salmon which , though ordered medium rare, was over cooked and dried out. We should have sent it back but place was so crowded, it was hard to get server's attention. Fourth entre--sea bass--was ok, but not really special and was not properly deboned.. Greek salad first course was excellent as was Greek yogurt dessert. We had early reservations, at 6:00, and it still took exactly 3 hours to complete our dinner. Kitchen was clearly overwhelmed.
