Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Elephant Ear, a new gem in Hell's Kitchen, offers a delightful dining experience with "melt in the mouth" duck and "wonderful" service. While some dishes need refinement, the "beautiful decor" and "great ambiance" make it a promising spot. Don't miss their crispy chicken and refreshing papaya salad.

I arrived 11 minutes after my reservation time (it’s raining in NYC and we took the subway with two small kids) and they would not seat us. He gave our table to a party of 4 that did not have a reservation and they didn’t even have everyone oresent. When I showed him that it said 15 min grace period on open table he handed us a credit card machine to order at the host table with elbow to elbow People. It would have been $150 meal that we were to eat I guess stranding up? They did not honor my reservation so we were forced to leave.

My friends and I were excited to try this place. The decor is great. The ambiance is also great. But I think where this place fell short was the service. Upon entering the team was attentive. Once the group was settled it took forever for 4 drinks. They came out in random sporadic order so everyone was in a weird place of should we drink or not. Once the drinks finally came the servers were just not even paying attention. So we called someone over and decided to place the order in complete with apps and entrees to ensure that we wouldn’t have to wait for someone to come over. The appetizers came and were delicious. We got the satay combo and the sauces and plate was very flavorful. We didn’t have any small plates to eat on and they didn’t bring any over till we asked. Then randomly in the middle of apps my entree came out which was the seafood combo. I awkwardly ate my food which was cold and it wasn’t until I ate slowly for about 15-20 mins that the food of my 3 friends came out. It was poorly managed. Overall. Food. Great. Taste and flavors. Execution and service needs a lot of work. And needs to come out hot.

The food was delicious, especially the crying tiger and crispy pork belly. They were so kind and accommodating with food allergies They have me a dessert and a very nice gift for my birthday even!! I don’t know if a birthday present is a normal thing or the server just was feeling generous but it was a lovely touch. It was also beautifully decorated and pricing seemed fair to me for portion size and quality, especially for midtown. We will eat here again.

Food was so delicious and different from what I normally get at Thai restaurants - the pork belly was amazing, would definitely go back to have that again! And the restaurant is really cute. Was perfect as a pre-show dinner!

This restaurant’s seafood is incredibly fresh. The Sautéed Mixed Seafood w/ Salty Duck Egg blew me away—the salty duck egg combined with seafood brought out a unique Thai flavor that I couldn't get enough of. Next, the Northern Thai Coconut Chicken Soup was rich and comforting, with tender chicken swimming in a fragrant coconut broth. The spices and flavors melded perfectly, making it one of the best Thai soups I’ve had. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I highly recommend to any Thai food enthusiast!

My experience here was incredible. The "Tom Yum w/ Mix Seafood" was a flavorful and aromatic soup, with the right amount of heat and sourness. The "Crispy Pork Belly w/ Chili & Holy Basil" was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, and the "Pineapple Curry Duck" was rich and flavorful, with the pineapple adding a touch of sweetness. Overall, a top-notch dining experience!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! The Papaya Salad was light, fresh, and packed with flavor, while the Stir Fried Green Bean w/ Sambal Sauce was spicy, tangy, and delicious. The Grilled Jumbo Tiger Shrimp was cooked to perfection, with a savory garlic sauce that added amazing depth of flavor. Everything was incredible, and I can’t wait to return!
