Elske means love in Danish, a nod to both David Posey’s Danish mother and the fact that the couple got engaged in Copenhagen. “Our travels in Denmark have really influenced us,” Chef Posey said. “We like that clean, simple aesthetic.” The dining room — all crisp lines, minimalist décor & soft lighting — is anchored by a wide open kitchen on one side & a small patio with a working fireplace on the other. Combined with the friendly service, it creates the impression that you’re eating in a supremely tasteful Scandinavian friend’s weekend home.

    Service was good. Too loud. Tasting menu food was awful and we are pretty adventurous. We boxed 80% of the food to then throw away. Not worth the amount charged. Cocktails were good.

    We were celebrating our anniversary and Elske exceeded our expectations not only with their food, but with their service and kindness. They made accommodations for food allergies and were one of the best meals we’ve ever had.

    We had an excellent meal last night at Elsske. It had been some time ago that I went. There were two of us with an early reservation before a concert, which we let staff know in advance. Cocktails ( one "Stirred" and one "Shaken") hit the spot. Due to timing we were not able to enjoy the Chef's menu, so ordered ala carte. There are just too many excellent choices. The Cheese plate as well as the anchovies proved to be excellent choices. Both were nicely plated, very nice portions and excellent starters. We tried the Leeks vinaigrette and the Halibut with bosc pears. Both presented beautiflly, well prepared and portioned. A shared dark chocolate custard proved to be perfect finish. Service was top notch and matched our timing needs more than adequately. Elske continues to be a top choice in Chicago for an excellent meal, with Danish inspired dishes that always makes me wish I could have ordered one of everything. Chef's Menu allows for this kind of sampling if you have time.

    Enjoyed the tasting menu along with the wine pairing. The halibut dish was excellent and the Eastern European flavors and inspiration shine thru elegantly. Would return for another dinner.

    Food was heavenly. Monica served us and made it so much fun. Part of “The Bear” was filmed there.

    We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was a wonderful experience. Really friendly top notch service by our waitress and the entire team. We felt taken care of. The food was unbelievable, packed with flavor. On par with some of our favorite Michelin started restaurants. We cannot wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu.

    Good service a great environment. The food was just ok and pretty pricey for what it was. Had it been really elevated, excellent food, the price would have been justified, but that wasn’t really the case.

    Elske was fabulous as expected. We were able to get a last-minute early reservation and had the prix fixe menu and wine pairing. Each dish was great. My favorite was the tuna and fennel, my husbands was the beef loin. The Muscato d’asti paired with the dessert was an amazing version of that wine. I love this place, especially the patio.
