   I cannot say enough good things about this evening’s dinner. We absolutely loved chef Bennett. The hospitality was unmatched and the food was even better. 5 out of 5 stars. We will 100% be back!

   Chef Quinton Bennett created the perfect meal for my wife’s birthday. His genius lies in his precision to create memorable dishes, creating memorable flavour profiles, and most importantly presenting them in unique ways. Not to mention that his tasting menu produced some of the best dishes I have ever eaten. It is extremely difficult to illicit emotional responses when eating a tasting menu. Chef Bennett did that in spades. have been to many Michelin star restaurants around the world. Other than food, what makes Enigma so special? Mocktail pairings that are better than wine pairings. Each mocktail was memorable, unique, and accentuated the flavour profiles in a way I have never experienced them. Need another reason to dine at Enigma. None. It is quite simply the best restaurant period. I live in Ottawa and will absolutely travel to Toronto just to dine at Enigma. The staff was also amazing. Very present and very helpful. Daria is the first person you meet when you arrive at the restaurant. She is pleasant and very accommodating. James manages the waiters and his exceptional attention to details definitely shows. Vlado and the barman responsible for the mocktails are brilliant and when you try them you will understand my sentiments. Perfect restaurant which provided the perfect meal. I believe there is no bigger compliment I can give. I have never had a perfect meal. Until now. That is why I choose to eat at Michelin star restaurants. I will never forget Chef Quinton Bennett. Go and dine at Enigma.

   Everything about my dinner (the tasting menu) was extraordinary. Exquisite food, all courses prepared with great care and with exceptional flavour and texture. Fabulous wine pairings. Service attentive, informative, careful. All well worth it.

   Truly outstanding dining experience. Expert cuisine paired with the best service I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Gimme a basket of those naan rolls and a vat of the dashi beurre blanc with caviar and I’d be set for life. Absolutely worth the trip from Chicago. Giving 1000 stars here because of OpenTable’s draconian “5 star” limit.

   I made a reservation for the 10-course Prestige Tasting Menu to celebrate my birthday, as we'd previously had an excellent experience when they offered afternoon tea. With the restaurant being Michelin-starred, I thought it would be a safe bet, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. On the positive side, the ambiance was lovely—intimate and spacious with tables well spaced apart, so it felt like we had our own private area. The hostess and servers were attentive, kind, and hospitable. However, the sommelier was overly pushy, rushing us to make decisions about the wine pairings, especially the premium option. There was a sense of being rushed throughout the meal. Even though we were still reviewing the drink menu, we had already received our first tasting course and were being offered add-ons like truffle and caviar without being told if there was an extra charge. To make matters worse, I overheard what I assumed was the head chef mentioning that our food was getting cold, and moments later, two servers hurried over to tell us to eat the dishes while they were still fresh. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the staff, which was a bit off-putting. After we finally placed our drink order, the sommelier returned almost immediately to ask if we were ready to finalize our wine pairing, once again recommending the premium option. As for the food, it was just okay—not mind-blowing, just decent. The main course was particularly disappointing—there was a piece of bone in the Cornish hen breast, and the Australian Wagyu was tough. The dessert and cheese courses were too similar in style of appearance. While I believe that service is what truly elevates the experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was where we felt let down. That said, the thoughtful gesture of a birthday cake with a candle and a Polaroid photo to take home was a nice touch.

   The wait staff at Enigma were exceptional. Our dining experience was more impressive than what we expected. The tasting menu was delightful in both presentation as well as flavour. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
