    I took my husband here for his 30th based on the reviews and the mentions in the hunter valley magazine. Unfortunately I was nothing but disappointed. As a local to the valley we are fortunate enough to frequent the best of the best restaurants. Based on the raving reviews which I wonder they authenticity I decided to give the newest restaurant in the area a go. From the get go it was nothing but bad. The waitress was not trained, I had to tell her to take the menus away as she placed food ontop on them. She spilt the wine over our table and did not clean it up. The atmosphere was really underwhelming, cheap and just nasty. We ordered a bottle of red wine for it to come out chilled, if this was explained to me I would never have ordered it as red wine typically is served at room temperature and most red drinkers would agree with me. Before I could tell the waitress not to open it she placed it down on the table and said “I don’t make the rules here” and walked away…. There was nothing fine dining about this restaurant and will never be back I have already encouraged other locals not to bother. The food was average quality, wasn’t bad wasn’t great definitely nothing to rave about. As I said in the notes it was my husbands 30th I did expect something to come out, usually this is what happens however nothing was. Really underwhelmed about the entire experience don’t waste your time here there are far better restaurants worth visiting. I really can’t comprehend how this restaurant has been getting so much attention. There was also a “Shakespeare play” on in the garden adjacent to the “restaurant” which was really an outdoor area with plastic pull down blinds, cob webs and uneven bricks. This wasn’t known to me we couldn’t hear the play exactly but would hear the commotion, yelling, screaming, singing. Not really a great atmosphere for the restaurant goers. We ordered the feed me menu. The meat was fatty and chewy. Really not great. 1 star.

    We had the tomohawk & the potatoes, salad & seafood squid ink pasta for main. It was amazing. A big meal but still attention to flavour and detail. Well done chefs on a fab lunch.

    Brought my family from overseas and they were delighted. They loved the ceviche and paella. Really had a good time!

    This is my new favourite restaurant in the Hunter. Unpretentious, authentic food that's so delicious and fresh, with a laid back and friendly atmosphere. No pretention.

    Great food in a quiet and peaceful surroundings.Good service and plenty of good wine to choose from from adjacent winery.We had lunch here during a road trip. I’m sure it would be great whatever the occasion.

    First time having the paella on a Friday night. It was delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon. The staff were great and attentive too.

    Amazing food although it was not overly busy we did have to wait quite a while for the food, some complimentary bread would have been nice but overall we did enjoy it!

    Absolutely loved it from the time we walked in & greeted by James. Food was the best. My husband’s words “Never had lamb so good 🤤”. It sure was We have already booked to go back with friends visiting from Melbourne. Thanks James and Gabriel!!
