Seasonal Italian Restaurant. Focused on Handmade pasta, bread and pizza. We get all of our products as locally sourced as possible.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: James Trees

From the OpenTable editors: When James Beard-nominated chef James Trees opened Esther’s Kitchen in 2018, he helped put the Arts District on the city’s culinary map. Now in a stylish new space with an open kitchen and whimsical animal wallpaper, the refined Italian spot still turns out the same wood-fired sourdough pizzas and knockout pastas (get the rigatoni carbonara with snap peas) that made it an instant Vegas classic.

The food was bad, simple truth. No flavor at all but the service was excellent.

Have dined at Esther's Kitchen many times over the past four years - this was our first time in the larger space. As I feared, the magic has been lost; it both too large and too bland - it lacks character. The food is still very good on balance but not as good as it could be/should be. The signature chopped salad was way too over dressed - we didn't think we needed to ask for the dressing on the side but should have. It was particularly disappointed because it was my wife's main - she has a gluten intolerance - a real medical issue and the kitchen still refuses to attempt a decent GF pasta to accommodate. The Italians have a higher incidence of gluten intolerance and many fine Italian restaurants have mastered the task - yeah, it's hard but you can't say you don't have the room in the kitchen. If you find yourself in the Art's district with a GF person in your group, go to Good Pie across the street for amazing GF pizza and a properly dressed salad instead.

I had an absolute amazing time at Esther’s Kitchen. From the ambience to the decor and service, it’s all tip notch. I came in to surprise my now fiancée after proposing to her in her birthday and they congratulated us with a glass of wine of the house. Our server, who I believe is named Alex, was absolutely stellar and did an amazing job explaining the menu and some of there great dishes there. I knew what cocktail I wanted to try and it was a great balance of the bourbon tase but with a subtle sweetness. My fiancée didn’t know what she really wanted and Alex made her a cocktail that was spot on for her palate with a few questions! We ordered the Basil, Burrata, and Anchovy butter to go with the bread and they all were great, highly recommended! I ordered the dry age steak and my fiancée ordered the Risotto and both were wonderful,. The steak had a great crust on the steak with a good depth of flavor. The risotto was super rich and flavorful. I recommend adding the Parmesan on top to make it that much better. I can’t wait to come back in the future to try more of the menu! One of, if not, the best dining experience off strip in Vegas that isn’t crazy on your pockets! Make sure you ask for Alex, she is amazing server and made our special day that much better!

Food was delicious as expected! It was our first visit and our server did a great job of walking us thru the menu and giving us spot on recommendations. My only complaint was my wife ordered a pizza for her entree and I ordered a pasta dish. I’m not sure if there was an issue with my order, but her pizza came out close to 30 min before my entree arrived. This led to her being long finished with her entree before mine was even brought out.
