Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber… John Dory, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores and although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name it also has a very British name, John Dory.

Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ – Like a few other Latin occupational names (e.g. Agricola for farmer, Nauta for sailor). Smith being the most common name in English we decided it sits well with our name as we want to be accessible to all and give everyday people the opportunity to be part of our journey and own the business they work in.

What sets us apart is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. This means that everything on our menu is fresh, sustainably sourced, and supports the local economy.

We believe in creating dishes that are not only delicious but also ethical and responsible.

Great food. Service didn't know what they were doing. Too interested in smiling and chatting with each other. Cocktails arrived after main course. Weren't offered more water or wine. None of the dishes were explained. Wait staff kept putting their coats on and leaving then returning 10 minutes later - I suspect for a vape. Coffee was cold.

Not just first class fish, but also wonderful UK produced air dried ham, great bread, lovely wine, perfect vegetables and best of all, absolutely world class service by a knowledgeable and smiling team. I'm definitely.going back

My wife had eaten here before and recommended we go for a quiet dinner after our respective long and busy days. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive and thankfully not obtrusive! Oysters were delicious, our main courses fantastic and the English wine selections are a great idea (and the Chardonnay a one to try!). Will definitely be back again. Thank you!

We had a fabulous lunch at Faber, the service was excellent. Highly recommend the cod cheek skewers and bbq pollock, delicious!

Wonderful place in Hammersmith! Loved the decor, tasteful but not too intense. Moderately salted food, even a bit plain (mussels in cream sauce needed a bit more salt). Very fresh tasty oysters, a good selection of quality wines. Overall a well balanced menu, not too heavy for a late night dinner. A delight!

A great fish restaurant, although they do serve steak too. The menu appears small however there are plenty of additional daily fresh offerings to select from. Try the BBQ pollock! Ideally located for the Hammersmith Apollo. I would recommend.
