   My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating Valentine's Day at The Wine Cellar at Fallon & Byrne, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped into the cozy, candlelit basement, we knew we were in for a memorable evening. The ambiance was intimate yet lively, striking the perfect balance between elegance and warmth. The exposed brick walls, soft lighting, and the extensive selection of wines surrounding us created an atmosphere that felt both refined and inviting. The wine list, as expected, was outstanding—carefully curated with an impressive variety to suit every palate. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, helping us select the perfect bottle to complement our meal. Their recommendations were spot on, and their attention to detail made us feel truly valued. As for the food, it was simply divine. Every dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. From the artisanal cheese board to the perfectly cooked mains, each bite was a delight. What truly set the evening apart, however, was the service. The team was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed for a seamless dining experience. If you're looking for a charming spot for a romantic date night or just an exquisite wine and dining experience in Dublin, The Wine Cellar at Fallon & Byrne is an absolute must-visit.    Lovely evening in the restaurant. Food was definitely superior which is why we went so didn't dissapoint. Service was very slow, more waiting staff needed - didn't feel cared for. Restaurant was quite cold on arrival despite being full, perhaps I was sitting under a fan but they seemed to turn temp up so settled after 30 mins or so. Bathrooms and hallways need modernising. Offputting that cheapest bottle of red wine was €43 so didnt order. Seemed odd for Dublin. Still ended up spending same on other drinks though. More expensive overall than anticipated..€83pp with no starter, no wine, shared dessert, no tea/coffee. Nice to go and experience it but wouldn't rush back. Pity because food was super.

   I had the smoked salmon and Guinness brown bread for the starter, really good, and for the main, I had the roast duck, and for dessert the gingerbread dessert. My other half had the cod for the main dish. We ordered a cosmopolitan cocktail and sour whiskey. Everything was great, just one minor thing the Cosmo politan drink was a bit on the small side. Service was great, the courses arrived at a good time, and it was just the correct amount of food. Great restaurant.
