   First visit, with friends from Brisbane and probably our last. We chose this hotel because of the good reviews it received in the Good Food guide and elsewhere. Our initial seating in the Atrium (I think that is what is was called) was with what looked like a works party and the noise level was just too much. We could not really have a conversation, so we asked if we could be moved to a different table in the Bistro (other dining area), which the staff could do and was much better. We had to wait for nearly an hour before our food arrived. The food that the two men chose (Chicken Schnitzel & Beer Battered Fish and Chips) was OK, but not memorable and on a par with any run of the mill pub with decent pub grub. The two women chose the same dish, the short ribs, which were inedible. The lady in charge (very nice) apologised and later returned to advise our partners that she agreed that the dishes were not up to standard and should not have been served and said she would take the cost of those two dishes off the bill. She also offered replacement dishes, but given the late hour, this offer was not accepted. The girls were given a free desert, which was thoughtful. In summary, on our visit to the hotel, we found the service, first in the public bar very slow, the noise levels in the dining room where we were first seated, was intolerable; service in the dining area was also very slow; half of the dishes we ordered were inedible. It appeared that the venue was short staffed, hence the very slow service. Maybe we just visited on a bad night.

   Great selection of meals, more adventurous than standard pub fair, whilst I did opt for a steak it was cook to perfection and the sides were excellent. Overall excellent experience shared with some out of town visitors. Dining room was a bit on the loud side making conversation challenging, but service meals and beers top notch.

   We went to steak night - steak was chewy Also had a chicken schnitzel that was dry . When asked how our meal was - we advised about the dry chicken - all we reveived was a blank stare. Not worth the hype - even on steak night

   Service and food were 10/10. Highly recommend for an intimate small group dinner and even solid date night option.

   We had the cellar room booked for our party of 8. It was downstairs and we had the room to ourselves. A lovely setting. The staff were good at checking to see if we needed any food or drinks. The food was very tasty. Good options for the vegans in our group.

    Steaks were great and fries were super crisp. They unfortunately forgot our sparkling water but took it off the bill. Also ordered a beer that never arrived but was on the bill, so had to get that removed. Staff were really apologetic, was just one of those super busy nights.
