The Five Sails features world class dining in an unmatched setting with stunning views of the water, mountains, and Stanley Park. There is an intimate private dining room for up to 20 guests, a chic bar/lounge area with modern fireplace and the addition of cozy, elevated booths for more relaxed dining.

Proprietors, Chef Ernst Dorfler and his wife Gerry Sayers offer their hands on attention to detail with beautifully presented continental cuisine on their seasonal a la carte menu, vegetarian menu & Chef's Tasting menu with wine pairings selected by Sommelier, Ramon Fresneda.

THE EVENT: Two leading Sommeliers compete to pair the perfect wine with each course at a decadent 4-course dinner. You vote to pick the winner, who proceeds to the final showdown. CHOOSE YOUR DATES ON THE ABOVE TAB Round 1- Jan 13 Round 2- Feb 18 Final- March 25 THE DINNER: Reception with canapés, 4-course dinner, and 9 wines. My experience at Five Sails was absolutely exceptional. The service was flawless, with every detail thoughtfully attended to. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable, offering expert pairings that perfectly complemented our meal. We enjoyed the Lobster and Duck courses, both of which were cooked to perfection. A truly outstanding dining experience—I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Very attentive waiters. Food quality was excellent. Bread brioche was delicious , Everyone had a great time.

A great location with wonderful views of the harbour and mountains. The service was excellent. We were impressed with the lobster bisque with a crab and scallop base which was very favourable and a delightful presentation. The main course of beef tenderloin with short rib Ragu lacked flavour and in my opinion not a good quality. The desserts were impressive in presentation and delish…... Overall a rather enjoyable experience. Staff very. 💕 accomodating and friendly.

Despite confirming twice with the restaurant about a birthday celebration, it was completely forgotten, which was disheartening for our group. Additionally, when I asked the server to assist with charging my phone, I trusted it would be taken care of, but after an hour, I realized the charging was not working properly. This left me unable to use my phone for photos or communication during the dinner, which was especially frustrating as it was my first time visiting the restaurant.

Five Sail is one of my favorite restaurant.The service is attentive, and the staff is warm and professional, making you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The food is consistently delicious! One standout is the dessert, “Apple”—an absolute gem that is not to be missed.

We went for the Dine Out Vancouver menu, and were exceedingly surprised by the outstanding service, menu and overall quality of the cuisine. Opted to upgrade the appetiser to the Lobster Bisque. It was well worth it. Flavourful with a superior presentation. We chose the Filet Mignon as our main of course, Filet Mignon. Without question it was one of the best quality and prepared steaks we’ve had in quite some time. Accompanied by an explosion of tastes, braised short rib ragout with a béarnaise sauce, was melt in your mouth and exquisite pomme purée with seasoned vegetables. A salacious chocolate gâteau to finish off our meal. Michael and supporting staff were a delight and made us feel like we were the only two in the restaurant. A truly wonderful experience.
