   The food was delicious but the macaroni and cheese I really didn’t care for it had a different type of taste to it but everything else the fried chicken, the collard greens the candy was delicious

   I absolutely loved this place. I made a reservation but arrived early and was sat immediately no wait at all. I went on a Sunday at 1:30pm and that was a perfect time. My waitress was very friendly and had great suggestions. I will definitely be back. All of the food I tasted was excellent. I don’t eat oxtails but tried my friends and the were sooo tender and seasoned to perfection.

   Mac and cheese is good. Grits were good too. Didn’t love the greens (off taste). Yams were decent. Originally ordered wings, but they didn’t appear all the way done (a tad too pink on the inside for me). Traded it for a fried hard breast, and that was much better. Our server frequently forgot to bring things back that we requested (drinks, enough takeout containers for the table, etc). It was on “ok” experience, but I likely won’t be back.

   They serve Swai instead of Catfish. That should never happen.

   Oxtails are to die for!!!! Best on the menu! Next best is the chicken and the fish is good as well. Sides are okay. The Mac and cheese, yams and greens are good. You really don’t need the sides if you get oxtails! The cornbread is awesome! Better than the biscuit.

   This was my third time visiting the restaurant. This is the first time I enjoyed it as well as I did. I ordered fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and greens. My food was fresh and good. My server was superb.

    I ordered the oxtails and I know that oxtails are tuff but these were extremely tuff. My friend ordered the smothered pork chops and they actually liked those but the Mac and cheese was bland. Had the fried green tomatoes and the tomatoes were raw! Overall for the prices they charge they can give you some bread. They actually make you pay for the corn bread $4 for a muffin! When you patronize a soul food restaurant cornbread is included with your meal and not a side dish it’s a staple . The food was just average but our server Taylor was amazing other than that I was not impressed with the food. I think the restaurant is overpriced and overrated but that’s just my opinion. I would probably give the restaurant another visit but it’ll be awhile before that happens!! I must try the devil eggs and the fried chicken. I will say that the restaurant is very decorative! Overall I would have to give my experience a thumbs down because the food wasn’t very good and I really do have a problem getting charged for cornbread at a soul food restaurant. Especially when I’m spending $30 on just my meal alone. Throw in the appetizer and the cocktails and you know that the cocktails aren’t cheap. I think you should give customers bread with there meal!!
