   Food is fantastic. Always busy recommend making reservations and get there early as you may have to park a distance away. But the wait and food are worth it and staff even when busy take notice and pop by to check on you. We drive an hour to get here definitely worth it

   Friday reservation for 530p. It wasn’t crowded and there were several servers on the floor. But, we spent a lot of time waiting. It was about 10 minutes before our server got to our table and apologized for not acknowledging us sooner. We ordered water for the table and 1 cocktail and 1 wine and kool-aid for the kids. It took 15 minutes for the waters to arrive then another 10 minutes for the kool-aid and another 5 for one of the cocktails. We ordered 2 appetizers for the table. The macaroni balls arrived about 10 minutes later. We snacked on those and 10 minutes later I asked our server about the deep fried eggs and my wine and she told me she knew we were waiting and it was coming. She seemed very frazzled but I observed other servers chatting and laughing with their customers. We couldn’t understand why she seemed so stressed. The place was not full and there were plenty of servers. Of course, we don’t know what else she may have been dealing with, but it was a little off-putting. The wine finally arrived after 25 minutes from order time, and the deep fried eggs shortly after. I’ve had the deep fried eggs before but this time they seemed smaller and definitely less tasty-very disappointed. I would not order them again. Then our entrees got to the table. My oxtails were chewy but the gravy was divine! My collard greens were tender and delicious. The smothered pork chop was good but could have used a bit more seasoning. The smothered chicken was really tasty and seasoned perfectly. The chicken and sausage gumbo was ok but very salty. The yams were perfect! Not overly sweet and cooked to perfection-not too soft but smooth and tender. We ordered peach cobbler and banana pudding to go. The cobbler wasn’t sweet enough for our liking and the banana pudding only had wafers crumbles on top and waaay too much whipped cream in the layers. Would not order either of those again. Our first time dining at Fixins in the evening but we will go back to weekday afternoons.

   This is not the first dining at Fixins. This is not the first time being completely satisfied with the service and of course the meal. Congratulations!

   Thanks to this reservation system, I had a very short wait time. The hostesses were very pleasant. My food was delicious and was served promptly.

   I think I’m hooked on the gumbo! Our server, as always has the best attitude! She is funny, hustles to get us our food and drinks and is an overall pleasant part of the experience.

   I always enjoy the food when I dine here. However, the waitress was not very attentive. My wife ordered a cornbread and unsweetened tea with her meal. She asked for Splenda. I ordered the deviled eggs appetizer. My daughter asked for plastic utensils. We did not get the appetizer or cornbread. Wife didn’t get her Splenda until the end of the meal. Daughter didn’t receive her plastic utensils. We had outside seating. She was more attentive to the dogs that was there, instead of the people. I am all for tipping good. I will not tip for bad customer service smh.

    We had a wonderful time at Fixins from the moment we walked in. They set us down introduce themselves. The music was wonderful. The ambience was magical and the food was scrumptious. We got the wonderful opportunity to meet Ms. Pearl. She gave us a little bit of history about the restaurant and other restaurants that they have. The oxtails are the bomb and the peach cobbler!
