Since 2012, Fonda La Catrina has been serving up Mexican comfort food and drink with quality ingredients and lots of love. We are a Mexico City style restaurant and bar located in the heart of the lively and loud Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Handmade tortillas, chips, salsas, tacos, braised puerco in salsa verde, tamales, mole de Poblano; all made in house by our talented team in the kitchen. The house made ethos extends to our bar as well. Agave spirits rule with fresh juices, infusions and seasonal fruits that inspire our bar team weekly. We feature Mexican and local beers as well as old world wines to match the vivid flavors of the Mexican cuisine we serve.

In general, it was just okay. I expected more since I saw the reviews on Google, but it did not deliver in my opinion. The place and ambiance were great, but the food was just okay, especially Carne Asada Tacos were really disappointing. Not just the taste but the presentation; they tasted bland and had nothing except the actual meat and some cilantro. I've had way more tasteful Tacos for way less. We also had Tacos Dorados which were better, Totopos Con Salsa with Guac and Pork Tamale, which was maybe the best out of the four dishes. It'll be one of those places I've tried once, I think.

The chips and salsa were so delicious! However, the food overall was overpriced because we were charged for everything! For example, I ordered a tostada and did not choose to have meat so I was charged for two side orders of rice and beans versus being able to substitute beans and rice for meat. I asked for additional salsa and was charged five dollars for this as well although the server informed me there would be an added charge. The server was not particularly friendly or helpful. The meal ended up costing much more than I thought it should have, although the food was very good.

Bartenders are Amazing and well versed. Ambiance is very bright, decor is simple not as colorful or interesting like other Mexican restaraunts but the chef makes up for it with his/her outstanding cullinary skills! Only negative thing is the service. We had to go get our server 3 times to bring us another drink and to order food. If I go back I think I will sit at the bar. I do recommend this place if you want authentic mexican dishes and a delicious spicy cucumber margarita.

Fonda La Catrina has good food and a good ambiance. A little loud inside but it’s friendly noise.

What a lovely evening. We stopped by on our way home from the airport. My brother was visiting for His Bday weekend. We ordered the jalapeno margarita & the margarita sampler, chips & guac. He had the chilaquiles, I had the mole enchiladas. So good! Great service! No wait. Great ambience. Very attentive without too many interruptions.

$20!!! for a Cadillac Margarita, $16!!! for just a house Margarita. The $20 ceviche app was too small and not so tasty. I’m bummed—have really enjoyed this place. Inflation & Shrinkflation off the charts. Very unfortunate.
