   Came recommended and did not disappoint. Quiet ambience and attentive staff. Salmon starter terrific, and hake entree was light and very flavorful

   Basement restaurant. Great food and ambience, friendly staff. Between us we had almost everything on the menu and it didn't disappoint. Service was a bit slow but made up for by the quality of the food. Would definitely go again.

   Excellent, if limited, menu. Young staff that are very eager to please- perhaps a bit too much. The food was well cooked and presented.

   This is one of Edinburghs best restaurants. Although the menu is small, it is well balanced and will suit the majority of discerning clientele. The food is always beautifully cooked and well presented. Staff are welcoming and attentive without being ‘over the top’. Always a pleasure to visit such a well run establishment.

   I have left a fairly full TripAdvisor review so not going to repeat it all here. Suffice to say that new management (very recent) isn’t getting it right. Food, although similar in style was well below the high standards I’ve come to expect from F&C - a real shame that Edinburgh has lost one of its gems. I’m afraid to say that we won’t be returning.    Absolutely brilliant - the food was delicious with perfect portion sizes a nice range of drink options. The ambience was cute and we were greeted and seen to wonderfully by the staff. We will definitely come back and recommend to anyone in need of a dinner spot in Edinburgh.

    Absolutely outstanding food and service, can't rate it highly enough. Warm welcome, seasonal menu, perfect way to spend my husband's birthday.
