Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Live and learn, we brought our 20, 19 and 16 years olds. It was fine but we think much better for a date night. Our kids said the staff made them feel less than welcome. Definitely a more mature crowd.

Vibes was immaculate with the ambience and decor. However it took a while to receive food and drinks after we ordered. Food was okay but could’ve better. Waiter was kind however clumsy with the water pouring and dropped water on us and our table three times. However, the overall experience of this place was on par for the North End title.

First time at Forcella for Dine Out Boston week. They offered a terrific menuwith 3 hearty courses. Plenty of delicious food. Space is small but very welcoming. We hope to be back!

Forcella makes the absolute best espresso martini I’ve had in a long time. Maris our server was truly amazing, funny, knowledable, and offered great service to our party of six. The bread was truly delicious warm and crispy. I am going to simplify it and called it Chicken Parm. It was out of this world a must try! Cannot wait to go back!

My friend and I went last night for the prefixed dinner menu, it was amazing ! Our waiter was so nice and had the best personality. He offered to take our photos and also gave us great recommendations :) I definitely want to come back again soon!

Food was delicious. Best Cacio e Pepe pasta I’ve had in any restaurant. Have my favorite wine on the list, Falanghina. Will definitely return.

My friend and I did a 5 course food and wine tasting. It was amazing! Every aspect was perfect! Food, wine and service. I will definitely go back!
