   The restaurant bills itself as a really nice downtown DC restaurant with a snazzy website. We had a business dinner booked there, but no one told us there would be a DJ with EDM beats pumping through the entire restaurant that evening. Truly awful. The food was fine, it was as expected. The service was rough; our server disappeared when our group was trying to pay the check and escape it all. Also, I tried really hard to figure out their phone number. I even sent them an email to ask so I could call and confirm, but it's actually impossible to find it. When you call the number on their OpenTable confirmation email, it goes to a Marriott and the people there have never heard of the restaurant. I still don't know what their phone number is, even after asking in an email. My organization will not be returning and I don't recommend for a professional or fancy or date night dinner. Might be good for going out or partying on a weekend night?

   Tried Fred and Stilla as part of Restaurant Week. Although it is in a hotel, the menu seemed to be innovative. Well, it’s a hotel restaurant. Muted flavors, mushy vegetables. The space is attractive and tables are adequately spaced to allow conversation. Service was pleasant and prompt. Fine if you’re staying at the hotel, but not a “destination” restaurant.

   Korean fried chicken and perogie appetizers were delicious. Everyone tried something different for entrees and we all enjoyed our meals and exclaimed how good everyone else’s dishes looked. The crème brûlée apple cheesecake was great and the red wine I had was a heavy pour. Not crowded on a Thursday night and our server was really nice. One of the nicest, chillest meals I’ve had in a while. Bravo!

   The food was delicious! Lamb shanks were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor and the Tom yum soup was perfect. Our server was great too, some of the best service we got while staying in DC! Extremely attentive, food came out in a timely manner and we were never left with a glass empty. Can’t wait to come back! Great place to dine in or just sit at the bar to grab a drink and watch the game.

   While the service was a bit slow, the food still managed to be ok! It wasn’t exceptional, but it certainly wasn’t disappointing either.

   Conveniently located at Dupont Circle in The Ven hotel, the restaurant had several positives: a clean, modern decor; extremely attentive staff; and an interesting, culturally diverse menu. That said, the food was only so so. I had the poutine for which the fries were served only semi-warm, not hot, so the cheddar cheese was firm and stringy, not gooey. I also had a Indonesian inspired grilled octopus which was not especially soft and succulent, but was instead a little too firm. If you're not overly food finicky you'll like the place. If you're... "it's all about the food," you can find better places.

   We went for the happy hour, but stayed for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised at the nice ambiance, really good food, and reasonable prices. Great location one block off Dupont Circle (in the Marriott Bonvoy). We'll definiately go again.
