   I love Fred’s - we’ve come to Cancun for years and have tried just about every restaurant. Not only is the food great. But the service is really the highlight here. It’s personal and hands on enough to make you feel taken care of but not so much that your night feels interrupted. One of my favorite places in Cancun to eat

   My/our favorite restaurant in Cancun! Never disappoints. Excellent salads, crab cakes, fish, salmon, octopus, coconut shrimp & seafood rice. . Last evening Abraham & George provided great service. We celebrated a birthday & last evening ended with a Carajillo. Until next time.!

   Celebrated my birthday with friends… The vibe is always great at Fred’s! Food and service is top notch. The music (played by DJ Edgar) is fantastic !! Fred’s is definitely my go to restaurant in cancun.

   We were excited to eat here and were sorely disappointed. We started with the coconut shrimp. Great presentation with fire and all but the shrimp were cold! We ordered the Neptune platter. It was terrible. King crab was cold, shrimp were burnt to the point you could not get the shells off. The steak was tough, vegetables were raw and the lobster was average at best. Service and atmosphere were fine but the quality of food was just not good. After the outstanding meal at Puerto Madero last night this was an expensive let down.

   The service, food and ambiance were excellent. We shared a grilled seafood platter that was amazing. The Matilda cake is a real treat!

   We regret going here. We had reservations. The service was slow, and it seemed as tho we were invisible. We were seated in a area that was crowded and noisy (despite the fact that we had requested originally to be seated outside instead). Then we had to wait for our menus. All this time, we were noticing people getting escorted outside. Still waiting for our server, when finally asked to be moved to a less noisy and crowded area. Then we still waited for our menus. I had to get up and get the attention of the host to have someone wait on us. When they did, we got our menus, and then had to get the attention of another waiter to bring us our drink menu. Honestly, we felt ignored, and I had to constantly get a waiters attention. Finally we were treated respectfully, but not until I had to make an initiative. The food was underwhelming. After they took our plates away, the manager came to apologize, and made excuses that they were busy. I have to mention that there were open tables all around us, and if that's his opinion of busy....then they have other problems. I mentioned how extremely disappointed we were, considering that this had higher expectations. He offered to cover our meals. I offered to pay half, but he insisted to cover the entire amount. I thanked him for admitting to his failure to please us, and said I'll leave a small tip for the waiter (even though he and the others failed miserably) and I mentioned that I would not be coming back, and the review that I will leave will express my thoughts.

   It was extremely busy when we arrived. We had a confirmed 7:15 PM reservation and we waited about 20 minutes before we were sat at a table that was in the middle of the room and the waiters were running back-and-forth through the door. There was a lot of confusion and nobody knew who was responsible for our table. As we say in the states they were “in the weeds”! Trying to figure out why my eye was so blurry We were not offered a cocktail or a wine menu for 30 minutes. This was very disappointing. We had finished our appetizer before we even got the wine menu. The night continued like this where we felt as though there was no waiter assigned to our table and it was chaos. Very disappointing because our friend said this is a very nice restaurant But compared to the other restaurants on the strip there was no comparison their service was impeccable.. sorry to say we may not return. The food was just ok for the price.
