A little about us & the culture that has been created… Friedmans is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City. Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats & local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect, & enjoy, not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.

    Went to Friedman’s last night for dinner as this is one of our local spots. When we checked in for our reservation, it was noticeable that there was tensions amongst the staff. We got seated after and placed our order. It took over 1 hour for our one sandwich and one salad to come out. Even after asking multiple times, they kept saying “we are working on finishing it up.” Multiple tables came in after us and were finished eating and paid before we even got our food. The waiter was kind enough to send out a dessert on the house, however, this did not make up for the bad experience.

    We went to Friedmans to celebrate a birthday. A couple of us have to be gluten free. Most of the menu can be done. They are very careful and it's clearly marked. The food was very good. Highly recommended.

    Busy on a Friday, GF fried chicken good, but a bit dry. Overall service was ok. Specialty cocktail, not so special.

    Good food and drinks. Menu with both “healthy” and comfort foods. Pleasant staff. Fairly quiet, no real buzz but good conversation. I’d go back.

    I had the calamari special and they were delicious. The spicy aioli had a great kick and the breading was nice and crispy.

    Happy to get a booth after we made a reservation online. We always enjoy their Chili Soup (big enough to share) and this time we tried another special, chicken pot-stickers. Tasty! My friend had his usual salmon and I decided to try the chicken parmesan platter. Big portion, but not as tasty as I expected. I took half home and hope to doctor it up a bit!
