   We live in island and this is our go-to place for a nice dinner and also when friends come from the mainland to visit. They have a big menu with lots of choices but I always get the Rib-eye steak. Its the best I’ve had on island and i think I have had them all. Nice atmosphere next to the golf course and not ridiculous island prices.

   We had a great experience going for the first time to Fuego during a visit to Maui. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the wait staff were pleasant and efficient. We will definitely return when the opportunity presents itself.

   Had a wonderful dinner with a dear friend. The food , service, ambience and overall experience was very pleasant. Will definitely return. My only critique was that I felt a bit rushed even though the restaurant was not crowded. There were no people waiting for a table so I feel in that situation there is no reason to rush diners. It wasn’t a rude rush but I felt the waitress hovered a bit. Her service on the other hand was very attentive.

   We have eaten at Fuego’s many times; breakfast lunch and dinner. Last night we arrived before sunset and sat in the couch area at the grassy edge. It was perfect until it got dark and the lights on the table were not adequate for us to see our food. We had to illuminate our food with our cell phones periodically. I had the seafood rissoto, which is always delicious. I popped a whole, unopened small clam in my mouth because I did not see it. Luckily I did not bite down and was able to take it out. My husband had the fresh Mahi and said it was excellent. That really is my only complaint - the lack of adequate lighting on the tables. There are so many great rechargeable options available.

    The Risotto is the best on island; Cesar’s Salad was too bland. Sides are over priced. Who pays $12.00 for a loaded baked potato or a side plate of Mac n cheese when you’re already into a rib eye that’s 38.00. Upgrade the contents to support the resort-like prices.
