Gabriel is ingrained with a rich history; within its fabric are many wonderful moments, meals, memories and macchiatos. Gabriel is a destination; a bright, vibrant space that is welcoming and homely – a place equal parts familiar and surprising.

Gabriel is a celebration of the past and future. The menu is Melbourne redefined, conceived with an infusion of French and European inspiration.

Each visit is a new discovery of that little special something in the air.

We sit at the beautiful corner location of Gertrude and George Street amongst the tree lined streets.
Join us for all day brunch and cocktails.

Our venue is open daily from 7am until 4pm.

**Please note that we only accept bookings for parties of 6 or more on weekends. Any parties less than 6 are on a walk in basis.**

    Our all-day breakfast and lunch menu is simple but elegant. Coffee is by Inglewood Coffee Roasters and daytime cocktails make up a third of the drinks list. Terrazzo flooring, emerald-green wall tiles and large sash windows lend a vintage feel, while a large, mixed-media piece by Melbourne-based artist Patrick Dagg brings you squarely into the here and now. Vibing Paris 1930's meets Milano 1950's.

    Service and food were faultless. Plenty of staff coming over making sure we had our orders taken. Food was delicious and came out very quick given the amount of people in the restaurant. The only criticism was the music, it was seriously WAY too loud. At times our group had to learn forward just to hear each other talk. I will return but in summer where we can sit outside & the tunes volume is more mellow.

    A favourite that I visit at least once if not a couple times a week. Wonderful, friendly staff and especially good coffees amidst the competitive coffee environment that is Collingwood/North Fitzroy. Foodwise, can highly recommend the chicken som tum- light, tasty and with extra spice it leaves your lips and tongue with a slight buzz afterwards, Highly recommended.

    Gabriel will not substitute eggs for a vegan option without charging additional. This does not treat plant based customers fairly. Irony is, eating plants only is helping the planet and all species. It's about time restaurants supported vegan customers better .

    Food, service and ambience were great! They don't do split bills, however, which was a bit disappointing.

    Party of 3 sat at a charming spot in the corner. While it was a very busy, public holiday service, everything was excellent! Appreciated the cocktails special, and amazing food. Definitely recommended and can see why it was so busy.

    You have a lovely place guys. I love the vibe and the concept. I was a little bit disappointed with food though. I had the rye bread bacon sandwich. And the presentation and filling could have been better. Overall the experience was good. But you have such a big name and I feel people expect more. Coffe was great!

    The overall experience was good, but my hash potatoes were not cooked through and was raw in the centre. I would like to try the restaurant again to see if it is better.

    Very friendly and helpful staff, a few mix ups with drinks but this was accommodated to very quickly and otherwise everything was great! Also well sized portioned meals.
