Great food and ambience. We had the bread, winter salad, sea bass and Brussels sprouts. It was all very good.

Enjoyed the lamb loin entry, it was quite good, cooked as agreed and portioned well. The fig salad for appetizer was portioned well and tasty - I should have asked for dressing on the side as it was applied heavily. The beet salad appetizer my spouse had was also good. The scallops - listed as appetizer, but spouse had as their entre - were tender and cooked nicely (which can be a challenge with scallops to keep them tender and not chewy), however they were significantly over-salted so she ate maybe half - would have sent them back had the server been around a bit more and maybe asked. Service was decent, don’t be in a rush for sure and our server had five tables that I could see her waiting on, including a party of 6or7, possibly one or two in the room I could not see…probably a table or two too many, but she was pleasant, professional and navigated my food allergies well so a couple minor items here and there no big deal. Our dinner for two: beet salad, fig salad, scallop appetizer for a main and lamb loin, only one cocktail and no wine was $189 with tip.

Went to Geist for my birthday dinner and they took very good care of us :). Although some portions were slightly smaller than expected, the food was mouth-watering and delicious. Drinks were yummy, the champagne garden was beautiful, and our server was amazing.

Four of us attended Geist on Valentine’s Day for dinner. We were seated in the outside area which has a beautiful ambience but the evening was quite cold so we wore our winter coats throughout the dinner. The outside area has two fireplaces and one standup propane heater but it was still cold. Perhaps they could procure one or two more heaters? The service was fantastic and the fixed menu excellent. Three of us ordered the scallops starter and the filet mignon main. Excellent! One of us ordered the salmon which he said was very good. The dessert menu was limited to two items which were good. Maybe next year they could add a chocolate dessert option? Geist is excellent and we would definitely go back. Considering how very busy the restaurant was, the service and kitchen staff delivered! Great job!

Overpriced food is my biggest issue. The ambiance is far more appealing than the food options and flavors. I enjoyed the service but one memory I have is the dry cake for dessert. We went in Valentine’s Day so maybe that could be a factor to the overall experience.

I drove 2 hours to eat at the Geist in hopes of a great meal and great atmosphere. The issue i had was the area where we were seated. There entrance to the room is open to the outside and it was 31 degrees outside with the wind blowing into the room. We asked to be moved to another location that I thought would be warmer because of the propane patio heater. After the waiter asked the manager and we went thru the trouble of being moved I realized that it was actually even colder than the other table but trying not to make a scene or cause trouble we tried using the blankets that were located at the table (only to steal other blankets from other tables to help). We kept our coats on the entire time we were at the table. This is NO exaggeration, I literally saw my breath the entire time we were at the table. This was supposed to be our Valentines Day Date because we were unable to go on 2/14. We ordered coffee to help warm us but the cold air quickly cooled off the coffee. The same happened to the meal we were served. I had to eat pretty fast to keep from having a cold meal. I doesn’t matter how good the food was, I had to scarf it down and tried to get out of there as quickly as possible all while trying to tough it out so that we didn’t ruin the night.

My fiancé and I go out to dinner quite a bit. We have been to Geist 3 times, and last night was our 4th time. The ambiance was inviting, cozy, relaxed. The bread starter with the cinnamon butter - you just have to get it! But the highlight of our evening….The beef tenderloin was delicious! And I’ll quote my fiancé last night “Geist makes one of the best beef tenderloins I’ve had in Nashville”. I wasn’t aware that this was his 4th time eating the beef tenderloin, but my first. I told him that was a big statement but that others and the restaurant would love to hear that review. And I agree, the beef tenderloin was outstanding. On top of the food, the service is very good, we were always asked how things were, and our waitress even fixed our wobbly table. This restaurant is a tried and true spot, worth coming back to time after time.
