Four of us attended Geist on Valentine’s Day for dinner. We were seated in the outside area which has a beautiful ambience but the evening was quite cold so we wore our winter coats throughout the dinner. The outside area has two fireplaces and one standup propane heater but it was still cold. Perhaps they could procure one or two more heaters? The service was fantastic and the fixed menu excellent. Three of us ordered the scallops starter and the filet mignon main. Excellent! One of us ordered the salmon which he said was very good. The dessert menu was limited to two items which were good. Maybe next year they could add a chocolate dessert option? Geist is excellent and we would definitely go back. Considering how very busy the restaurant was, the service and kitchen staff delivered! Great job!

I drove 2 hours to eat at the Geist in hopes of a great meal and great atmosphere. The issue i had was the area where we were seated. There entrance to the room is open to the outside and it was 31 degrees outside with the wind blowing into the room. We asked to be moved to another location that I thought would be warmer because of the propane patio heater. After the waiter asked the manager and we went thru the trouble of being moved I realized that it was actually even colder than the other table but trying not to make a scene or cause trouble we tried using the blankets that were located at the table (only to steal other blankets from other tables to help). We kept our coats on the entire time we were at the table. This is NO exaggeration, I literally saw my breath the entire time we were at the table. This was supposed to be our Valentines Day Date because we were unable to go on 2/14. We ordered coffee to help warm us but the cold air quickly cooled off the coffee. The same happened to the meal we were served. I had to eat pretty fast to keep from having a cold meal. I doesn’t matter how good the food was, I had to scarf it down and tried to get out of there as quickly as possible all while trying to tough it out so that we didn’t ruin the night.

My fiancé and I go out to dinner quite a bit. We have been to Geist 3 times, and last night was our 4th time. The ambiance was inviting, cozy, relaxed. The bread starter with the cinnamon butter - you just have to get it! But the highlight of our evening….The beef tenderloin was delicious! And I’ll quote my fiancé last night “Geist makes one of the best beef tenderloins I’ve had in Nashville”. I wasn’t aware that this was his 4th time eating the beef tenderloin, but my first. I told him that was a big statement but that others and the restaurant would love to hear that review. And I agree, the beef tenderloin was outstanding. On top of the food, the service is very good, we were always asked how things were, and our waitress even fixed our wobbly table. This restaurant is a tried and true spot, worth coming back to time after time.

Food was good, drinks were flowing & ambiance was perfect for our girls night. Jordy & Paine have no business being that much fun. 10/10 experience, 11/10 staff. Would go again just for the staff alone!

Excellent service and great food found in this quaint establishment. Really can’t go wrong with any choice of food. The winter salad and scallops were fabulous and let’s not forget the Brussels sprouts. Top it off with a bite of tiramisu and the meal was complete. Definitely will return.

Everything was delicious! Highly recommend the House Bred, Steak Tartare, Lam Loin, and Duck Ragu! We sat in the champagne garden, but the inside seating seemed like the better spot to sit, especially in winter.

Again a disappointing food experience. Geist is falling behind all the other great spots in Nashville. Limited selections on brunch. Near empty bukding. Super salty quiche and fries. Super dry chicken for two of us. Gorgeous atmosphere with lack luster food and drinks. Better places in Nashville for sure

The food was fantastic but just a few service notes. We ordered some appetizers when we placed our drink orders. However, they did not arrive until much later, at the same time as our salads. The salads were amazing but each of us ordered them as a shared item with one other person. Normally kitchens would divide them and serve on 2 plates but they did not. This might seem trivial but splitting them at the table was quite messy. Great food and good quantity of it. Would definitely return.
