Gekkō is a japanese-inspired steakhouse and lounge from the minds of groot hospitality’s david grutman and the recording artist bad bunny.

Located in miami’s thriving brickell neighborhood, gekkō immerses patrons in a fusion of elevated steakhouse surroundings with the modernity–and precision–of japanese cuisine. Signature dishes include premium steak cuts, jaw-dropping sushi inventions, and delicious seafood appetizers. A bespoke cocktail program, an extensive wine list and bottle service offerings complement the menu.

Gekkō’s aesthetic is lush, luxe and jewel-toned. With design accents like custom wallpaper, dark and rich palettes and hints of soft golden light, the restaurant transports visitors to an intimate, rare nocturnal world. As it happens, the word “Gekkō” itself translates from Japanese to English as “moonlight.”

Waited 2 hours past reservation time. We were told 1 hour wait and we still waited there and in the end we left. Had a drink it was called Summer without you, it was okay, set me back $30. I don't even know about the food.

had to wait more than 1 hour to get seated despite having a reservation. the food and everything else was excellent as usual

What's the point of having a reservation and then waiting 90+ minutes for the table? I totally understand waiting 15-20 minutes; however, once it's over 45 minutes, there needs to be something done above and beyond.

Reserva a las 9pm. Nos sentaron a las 10:30pm. La carta de vinos la estan ajustando y en vez de saber que vinos tienen disponible te dicen dime 3vinos y te digo cual tengo. Escogen el vino mas caro en vez de tener contabilidad de sus vinos. Dijeron que el iberico pork era levemente empanado y parecia pechuga empanada completamente. El mesero muy amable pero para lo que uno paga, no vale la pena

I recently made a reservation at Gekko, excited to enjoy a nice meal. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. Upon arrival, we were informed that despite our reservation, we would have to wait an hour and 30 minutes to be seated. This was frustrating, especially since we had planned our evening around this dining experience. The staff was polite and apologetic, but it felt disorganized. We watched as other guests who arrived after us were seated sooner, which added to our disappointment. While I understand that delays can happen, the lengthy wait time without any clear communication or compensation was disappointing.

Great place, the quality of the food was amazing and the drinks are spectacular. Great place, I definitely going back.

Derrick is a great host. The wagyu experience is delicious. And the ginger salad is light and crisp.

Excellent food, everything very tasty, spectacular service, bread, sushi, Edadame, rice with lobster, attention at another level, I recommend it.
