This traditional, local pub offers a fresh, seasonal menu coupled with local craft beverages, all of which can be enjoyed in our rustic, country setting. Our alfresco courtyard is the perfect oasis for any passing visitor or returning local. Take in the views of the rolling hills under our pergola or sit street side as you watch the world pass by, both are perfect with a drink in hand.

Not our first visit here for a Sunday lunch and usually a favourite in the area. Sadly the meat on the Sunday roast was poor this time, overcooked, lots of little bits and not much of it. Also that staff who have been great previously just weren’t on point. They took over 35 mins to clear our plates after we’d finished (also other tables around us with empty plates) yet when I walked past the staff area with the tills and menus on my way to the toilets they were chatting and eating in there, quickly trying to hide the spoon when they spotted me. It’s as if the management were in a day off and the standards had dropped sadly

Good food, good beer, good service, great looking pub - but cold! On a day where it's less than 5C outside the heating (radiators) should be on, the log fires don't supply enough heating for the pub. Therefore after being in there for 2 hrs for drinks and food, we left feeling cold which made it disappointing. Will only go back in the warmer weather.

Lovely meal in very pleasant dining area. Despite being very busy with a pre-booked party of 30 the staff were plentiful and extremely attentive and meals brought out very swiftly. Lovely atmosphere and vibe. The food and drinks were all excellent, just the right amounts and good value. Will return again soon

I will be visiting again and would highly recommend. Wide menu choose, with same good recommendations from the staff, good friendly atmosphere and a great vibe about the place

Food was amazing, fresh, hot when it arrived. Pub was very busy with a large function on, this didn’t effect service at all. Menu choices are good, , we enjoyed our meal on sat eve so much we returned sunday for roast!

Lovely lunch in super setting where the fire was lit. Very nice staff who accommodated my request to mix and match to suit my dietary requirements. Will be back!

The food was really good although the service was a little slow. Probably due to being over the holiday period. The George is a lovely venue with a great atmosphere and welcoming fires! Will be going again for sure.

Our whole experience was excellent from atart to finish, big improvements on last year,all the staff were very friendly and service was great All food was excellent Well done and thank you

We had a table booked for 1.30pm on Christmas Day. We arrived on time, and a very nice, young lady gave us a glass of champagne. We were shown to our table, and the waiter came to see if we would like wine, or anything else to drink. Then shortly after we had a chefs taster followed by perfectly served starters, mains, and desserts. The time between each course, was just right. We had a lovely small gift on the table, a very nice thoughtful touch.! We thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed our time at the George, the staff were lovely, and the meal and service, first class. We would most definitely recommend the George for an outstanding meal , and a great time.

The food from the georges christmas menu was delicious and the restaurant is a lovely place in which to enjoy an evening. The service was very good and the waiting staff nice and polite
