Our menu consists of starters such as Confit Chicken Leg Terrine, Poached Salmon & Cod Fishcake & Leek & Potato Velouté. Following onto delicious main courses such as a traditional Roast Breast of Norfolk Bronze Turkey with all the trimmings, Braised Beef Shin & Creamed Potatoes, Pan Fried Fillet of Line Caught Cod & Chargrilled Mushroom Wellington. Finishing off the meal with Christmas Pudding, Warm Chocolate Fondant or a selection of Cheeses, Sourdough Crackers, Celery salad & Red Onion Marmalade (£2 supplement). Mince Pies. 2 Courses £34 or 3 Courses £44. 48 hour notice for restaurant as pre order is required.

Excellent lunch. Food superb and filling. Ambience perfect with a lovely open fire. Service very good too. Will definitely be back.

Overall a really great experience! Food was delicious, best pub food I’ve had in a while and I am fussy! It’s definitely more elevated, given the taste and quality felt the prices were very fair. Service was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. My only feedback would be to make the outside seating more comfortable to reflect and level out to the standard of excellent food and service! We will be back :)

Lovely meal in a beautiful old pub in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. Food was delicious and the service quick and efficient. Will be coming back again!

Staff were very pleasant but spilled nearly every dish they brought. Nearly ended in my friend’s lap a few times. There was also a long wait for drinks. Food was good but portion size was very small - small bowel of veg and roast potatoes between 4 was not enough. Have been here previously and was very impressed but our latest trip we were a little disappointed.
